He earned a Ph.D. while studying Craniofacial Development with the Department of Cell Biology, Neurobiology and Anatomy at the Ohio State University Graduate College. On finishing his active duty tour with the US Navy he returned home to Willoughby Hills / Mentor area to work with his long time friend and mentor Hudson D. Fowler III.
