Dr. Frank Allan Thompson, MD

First, let me say that Dr Thompson is an excellent doctor. No complaints whatsoever. The issue that I have is with the front desk staff. Some of them are just flat out unwelcoming, unfriendly and just not very nice. When a person is sick, the last thing that they either want or need is someone who is short and difficult to deal with. Quite frankly, it is shocking that people like that are allowed to be the face of your practice. Dr Thompson, you really need to make some changes to your office staff.

Dr. Thompson has cared for my physical and emotional well being for 10 years. During my appointments, Dr. Thompson asks many questions to provide the best outcome for me, and listens intently while taking all the time needed. I recommend him to friends and acquaintances frequently.

I have seen Dr. Thompson for years and he has always been caring, concerned and spends as much time with me as I need.

Dr. Thompson is a great doctor/guy and goes the extra mile to ensure he take care of any issue that you have. He and his staff are very professional and courteous and they make sure that your visit is enjoyable.

Especially good with hormone replacement issues.

Is that last reviewer talking about the same doctor I know? Dr Thompson, and his staff are very caring, compassionate, and professional. He is VERY interested in his patients. He takes the time to listen, and is very knowlegible. I have been a patient of his for many years, and I expect to stay with him for many more years.

25 years of allergy suffering, many doctors guess at what it was, and my first visit to this guy and he nailed it. No more suffering. He takes his time, orders necessary testing, and actually calls you back...personally...to talk to you.

I am a 47 year old female with many, some severe, health issues. When I first moved to Florida in 1999, I had tried to find out what was wrong with me at Kaiser(HMO)in Colorado for so long. After numerous tests, etc I was never given an answer. I kept getting worse I can only describe it by saying I felt my system was shutting down. I saw a couple doctors here bet. 2000-2001 and still, no one knew - I also add that no one cared I was a number not a person. My company transferred me to a new location in St. Petersburg when Dr. Thompson was located on 4th Street and I had to choose a primary thru my insurance and I knew nothing about him except he was close to my job site location, so I chose him as my primary. When I first met with him, he took (and has ALWAYS) taken good time with me and thru process of elimination he found my thyroid issues quixkly (fairly common, why could 10+ doctors not find this?) He put me on medication and within a couple months I felt my strength back and… was feeling like I hadn't for over 10 years. Dr. Thompson has been my doctor for 10 years now. Through these 10 years I have had all kinds of things go wrong and he has always taken the time to figure out what is going on, and I can say without hesitation that he really CARES about his patients (so hard to find). I would give examples but not necessary as it would take days..lol. I now live far away (around 130 mile round trip) but there is NO WAY I will ever change doctors I travel when I need to see him because I know I am being treated by a caring, extremely intelligent professional who stays current on everything (medically). I have recommended him to many friends. I took the time to write this review upon searching for his new phone number on the web because not many people know where to go to get quality care - and trust me I have seen some real losers and wasted much money and precious time. I have confidence upon recommending him.

There is no bedside manner with this doctor, it is a "get in and get out place". They misdiagnosed me twice for major health issues! Be warned this Dr or his rude staff do not care how you fare after any treatment! Stay away!
