Dr. Frank Joseph Tomecek, MD

I would highly recommend Dr. Tomecek and his staff to anyone looking for a back surgeon. In a 9 month period he performed surgery on both my husband and myself. We were both in a lot of pain and unable to be active like we used to be. We are both very pleased with our surgical results. Dr Tomecek and his staff are knowledgable, caring and responsive.

After having neck pain 24/7 for 3 years, and trying several different treatment options, I asked for a referral to a Neurosurgeon. I am a dentist, and was facing retirement if I could not get some relief. Dr Tomacek was highly recommended by several different sources. After meeting with him, I had full confidence that he was the best at his craft. I had C-4, 5, 6 & 7 fused and 3 discs removed and replaced with donor bone. Within a few weeks after surgery, I had no pain. This was the first time in 3 years! I did the recommended physical therapy and have regained full range of motion and strength. I feel that Dr Tomacek gave me back my life. He is a brilliant surgeon and an incredible person. His staff is very knowledgeable and professional. If you are looking for the best doctor in Tulsa, he is the one!

My husband is the one that had the back surgery, however; I wanted to share from my point of view. Dr. Tomecek was very knowledgeable and informative. He gave him different options and scenarios. He took the time to explain in great detail the procedure that would be good for my husband. Dr. Tomecek ask my husband the right questions, he was very direct, thorough and was able to pin point and understand what was going on with his back. The staff has always been so helpful and would answer questions for us before, during and after surgery. All of them had a genuine care and concern for both of us. They wanted nothing but the best outcome. He got exceptional care all the way around.

I have to know how things work. Dr. Tomecek talked to me like a real person and explained the procedure in a way that I could understand it. I know he is a good doctor because I could not walk without excruciating pain before the surgery. I am now walking pain free. I know Dr. Tomecek is a wise man because he has surrounded himself with the best staff a doctor could have. The staff made me fill important and loved, yes loved. My whole experience from the first office visit to the surgery , the hospital stay and the follow-up has made me a better believer in people.

Dr. Tomecek is a phenomenal surgeon. 11 years after my neck surgery I’m still working out, playing tennis, and golf. Went from not being able to move my left bicep to pain free in a matter of days.

Dr. TOMECEK is the most well read, skilled and caring surgeon around.

At 69 with no one at my home to help me after my back surgery I made plans to go to an assisted living facility for 4-6 weeks after release from hospital. Mr Control Freak throws a temper tantrum and says he won't authorize that. He wants me to do home therapy 3 times a week. When my daughter questions his discision, he railes on her (she's been a critical care cardiac nurse over 20 years. My 49 year old son calls my cell phone to check on me and wants to talk to Tomecek about my decision to go to nursing facility and Mr Temper Tantrum takes MY cell phone, walks out of my room down hall toward nurse's station yelling at my son (showing off to all the nurses that HE rules). Absolute biggest jerk ever PLUS my back surgery was not what I'd call a success...many problems. Even if he was a good Dr, who needs or wants a doctor with an uncontrollable temper who treats you like you're too dumb to make any decision about your own health? He told my children they should take a few weeks off… work and stay with me. My daughter lived in Texas and my son's job would not allow, which is WHY!! I wanted to go to nursing facility...AND my insurance would have paid 100%. I detest the little jerk. So you've been warned.

To this day I suffer from severe lower back pain and now that they are taking our pain meds my quality of like is stuck in a chair 24/7. Dr. perfect stated he did nothing wrong. I have had 2 more surgeries to try and fix what he did. Nothing has helped. I wish I had never met him.

Dr. Tomecek is a liar!! I had three appointments with him. He ordered an MRI and xray on my first visit. Two days later I had the MRI, xray and was seen by him afterwards for the results. I was told.to just go home, let my 6 fractures on my spine heal and he would see me in a month. Well, today I saw him and he contradicted everything he told me on my previous visit. I have a work comp injury. He told me he wanted me to take aquatic physical therapy and have steroid shots in my lower back. I began inquiring about the several calls to his office over the past three weeks and either getting the run around or completely ignored. He became angry and started talking very unprofessional and disrespectful towards me. He then told the work comp representative that nothing was wrong with me and to send me back to work. Keep in mind that I still have 6 fractures to my spine that haven't healed, whip lash, a bulging disc and was diagnosed today, after a month of being seen by him, with a… concussion. If I cohld.give him 5 negative star's I would!!!! Had to give him one star in order to write this review. This man is a puppet for work comp and doesn't care about his patients health....Chris Gibson

I used him for my first 3 of my surgeries..He and his staff caused my back to become infected which caused nerve damage in my back...now I have to live on pain pills even function. IF I COULD DO ALL OF THIS OVER AGAIN I WOULD HAVE RAN AS FAR AS COULD FROM HIM..
