Dr. Franklin Ming-Teh Chu, MD

I was told I needed surgery for stones and to rule out cancer. I took 2 months to get a return call from Angie The surgical coordinator. Once scheduled I had pre-op The morning before with Dr Chu. He grew upset at me for the questions and concerns I had. He yelled do you want my help or not so I didnt feel comfortable to ask any more questions. He led my husband and I to Angie who told us to contact her by 2:00pm to find out the time I am to be at hospital if the hospital didn't call by then. We called Angie she told us to go to admitting at 8:00 am for my surgery. They brought me to a waiting area after several hours Dr Chu walked toward us yelling what are you doing here your surgery wont be until 5:00 or 6:00pm. We told him we were following Angies directions. He told us we were lying and walked off to his next case. He returned and told us we would be waiting along time, we asked to leave to our hotel and come back he said that would be a problem. I have Parkinson’s… Disease and would be without meds water and food from 8 to to 5 pm. He has no compassion, nor professionalism and is arrogant as he brags about how many patients he see in a day and how many surgery’s he knocks out. Take your time and really look for a gentle and kind Dr.

Abhorrent treatment in this practice by Dr. Franklin Chu. Please avoid him at all costs. I won't go into detail of my experience, but please reconsider any decision or referral to this medical practice. #metoo

i really wish i had read up on this dr BEFORE i saw him for a procedure. I hope you are looking BEFORE..RUN FAST. i saw him twice. once for a consult and lastly for a procedure. The fallout started at the back office originaly and just got worse. I was treated disrespectfully and abruptly. I was to get a "simple" cystoscopy that would take 2 minutes i was told. I didnt see the dr until after a 45 min wait time up front and at least another 30 min naked from waist down in a little room alone. I already let everyone know how anxious i was. Finally when dR came in he started by shoving a catheter up my urethra , emptying my b;adder. Then proceeded to soak me bc he kept sticking the scope into my vagina, apparently unable to FIND my urethra again.. soaked me from middle of my back to my socks with water he was trying to insert into the urethra , but kept winding up in my vagina. when he got totally frustrated he began shoving his finger in my vagina to not stick the scope back up there i… can only assume..did this 3 times. i felt completely violated. with all of it. Then once he stuck the completely contaminated scope in my urethra , he complained it was too narrow and announced he was going to do a dilatation . i asked wjhat this consisted of and he said id know when he did it. I began screaming in pain this did not phase him he just kept right on going doing nothing for my pain.. i confronted him and his rude staff. I didnt get too far as they were both too arrogant to hear a pt whom they had just violated and treated completely unprofessionally. this dr just told me "i should feel lucky to have him bc he is the best urologist in the state". started rambling on about all he does. INSANITY>> how can a urologist NOT FIND THE URETHRA AND PUT A CONTAMINATED SCOPE UP MY URETHRA> ? i didnt go in with a uti , but im positive i came out with one. I told them i m a nurse as well and im aware of what just happened. He finally left me sitting there half naked , completely soaked WITH THE DOOR HALF OPEN saying to come back in 3 to 4 weeks to do it again.. I dont think so , but be warned i will file a grievance.. ONE GOOD STAFF .MICHELLE..SHE IS THE ROSE AMONG THE THORNS I SAW THERE. THANK YOU MICHELLE.

Dr Chu took me as a patient after a very bad botched hysterectomy another doctor in Pomona back in 2002 performed. He was seriously interested why I was spilling urine continuously and at 42, it was a skilled diagnosis that found a vaginal fistula . He after a tedious five hr surgery, was able to separated the bladder from the vaginal and fixed the humiliating problem of wearing adult diapers to be able to go out in public. After six weeks, I had a followup consult with Dr Chu. His question was "is there any leakage? ". Thank you to Dr Chu's skill and God's hand, my answer was "no leakage"!!!! I recommend Dr Chu, it's been now 13 yrs and the only problem I have is a bladder prolapse, which has NOTHING to do with my previous sergery, but old age. I plan to get his opinion on this issue as a second opinion and if he confirms, see if my insurance is covered by his services. You can trust he will do an outstanding job! Thank you Dr Chu for many years of security I gave had.

Dr. Chu explained my cancer to me in laymens terms so that I fully understood my situation. He has been very professional and also personal enough so that I feel he cares about me and my health. Be aware that he will not sugar coat your condition. He will tell you the best and worst outcome. It seems that some previous reviewers may not been able to handle that. His office staff is courteous and friendly. I would recommend Dr. Chu to anyone that has been diagnosed with prostate cancer. I feel that I am in good hands.

This is the worst Dr. i'v ever met in my life. He was mad that I smoked , and told me i had cancer without having any results back. He's the most un caring non professional Dr. you will ever know. Don't see him, he just wants your insurance money. He cares nothing about his patients and he lie's. I turned him in on a grievance report, and he lied about everything.

I started seeing Dr. Chu at a time of high chronic pain. In The beginning I needed a procedure weekly now I need it generally once per month. He has helped me with my chronic pain with compassion and caring. If you are only seeing him once you may be discouraged as the wait can be long. The staff is friendly, helpful and knowledgeable and most speak English and Espanol.

This is the worst dr I have ever met! He broke hipa laws & is rude. After being verbally abused I switched to a new dr.One week after seeing the new dr I am having surgery. Dr chu prolonged my treatment for over 9 months. Dont waste your time- find a new dr now. He will string you along & mistreat you.

Dr.Chu has zero beside manner! Had 2 different radiolist say that I have large stones- but since Dr. Chu could not see them on xray, he said they were not there. He yelled & talked about me in the front office- where all the staff & other patients could hear everything. I felt has if I had been abused by the time I left (2hrs later). He has the "better than anyone" additude. He is always in a hurry & never fully explains anything. He claims to be a "christian
