Dr. Franklin R Lewkowitz, MD

Happened to run across Dr. Lewkowitz's reviews and noticed how high they are. I'm surprised since I've had two experiences with him, both not great. Over 10 years ago I had my first colonoscopy, with him. At the office visit before the procedure he was brief, distant...very rushed but not overtly rude. During colonoscopy as I was lying on left side with all attention behind me, I was fully awake, just couldn't move or speak and I tried to make a sound to let them know I was awake, but couldn't. I heard them talking through the procedure. Felt a deep cramping but no real pain. Told the recovery nurse about this when i was able to speak a bit; no concern or explanation given. Later from home, I called office, explained, no one seemed concerned. A very unpleasant experience. Then I had another colonoscopy in 2018 and definitely went to a different GI doc, Dr. Jaffrey Kazi, who did an EGD at same time, and I was so scared I would be awake again, but have no memory of that experience at… all, so THAT was what it was supposed to be like. A few years ago I needed to speak to a GI doc with questions regarding my liver blood work. Dr. Kazi was not available at the time, so had just a phone consult with Dr. Leukowitz who was rude and unconcerned on the phone, sounded annoyed like I was bothering him; this was my second and last experience with this doctor. No thank you.

has been around scottsdale since the seventies at scottsdale healthcare, osborn. very expert at his specialty. still does his prescriptions on a handwritten paper, not computerized. staff knows you personally, not by an insurance number or birthdate.

A very peaceful, relaxed, professional atmosphere, set by Dr. and Staff.

He saw me through Hep C with kindness and knowledge. I really appreciate the stability of his practice.
