Dr. Frederick A Luchette, MD

As an indicator of this man’s character, back when he was a resident, he did unnecessary surgery to me. He lied. He told me that I had a tear in my diaphragm, after a car accident, though this claim was not verified by X-rays. I refused the surgery. But Mr. Luchette continually entered my room and essentially harassed me until I consented. There was no tear in my diaphragm. Never was. This experience has left me with an unseemly scar and emotional pain.

Best dr. Ever. Dr. Luchette and his staff are miracle workers. Great people.

I felt awkward after my surgery with Dr. Luchette. Everything was good for the first 3 weeks then I started to have pain. Woke up one evening to fluid pouring out of my surgery site. I called Loyola and my primary physician the next morning to be seen by a physician, I knew something wasn’t right. My primary physicians office pick up and gave me an appointment that day. I did have an infection and my surgery site had to be packed to heal from the inside out. When my primary sent an email to Dr. Luchette the nurse responded by saying Dr. Luchette will se me on Friday. Then my primary received an email from Dr. Luchette saying since he started helping me he can finish it to the end. Now at this point I didn’t want to go back to a doctor who didn’t want to see me so I ended up paying a 25.00 copY 3 times a week since my surgeon didn’t want to see me. If Dr. Luchette would have followed up all my copays would have been covered under a global net.

Dr. Luchetti took care of a recurring hernia. He was kind and did a great job.

Dr. L was fantastic, spent time with patient before and after. Gave a lot of info and was actively engaged to answer all questions!!!

after last nights storms and lighting flashes, I was so scared, and all I thought of was you coming into my room at Loyola. you closed the curtains and held my hands to calm me down.

I was referred to Dr. Fred Luchette by my Loyola urologist Dr. Wheeler specifically for a Hernia in the groin area. Luchette ordered a CT w/out contrast and then said negative. I made him do a second w/contrast and he still claimed nothing to repair yet I could not be on my feet for more than a hour at that time before sitting or lying down. Left with over the counter pain killers and neglecting my job and family enduring searing pain it finally became a bulging knot visible to the naked eye a couple months later. I decided to see an outside urologist for consultation. Much to my surprise the new doctor says obvious hernia. So the bills keep coming from Loyola for scans and services that were so lousy I can't give one star for Luchette's department at Loyola. The insurance company should be notified of this failure and Loyola should look into his department. I would be happy to identify myself as I was clearly not diagnosed properly resulting in lost time, money and much discomfort.… Do not take a hernia to surgeon Dr. Luchette at Loyola... total FAIL!

Dr. Luchette just did my umbilical hernia surgery 8 days ago. I feel terrific! He did such a wonderful job. When you meet Dr. Luchette, you are immediately confident that he is the best surgeon for the job. He is so reassuring, compassionate, and kind. He explains everything to you and does not rush you out of the office. My recovering is amazing and I thank Dr. Luchette!! Also, his staff is wonderful and kind.
