Horrible doctor

Dr Perkins thinks he knows it all..i moved here from California and was in the process of getting albration surgery I moved before the surgery could be done. Dr. Perkins was bad mouthing the previous hospital and previous neurologist. He was making assumption about my condition. Even though they have done extensive testing and he just met me and has never done testing. He was saying the feeling I feel during my seizure were wrong. At the end of are visit we wanted a card for marijuana due to the fact I have seizures everynight and they are uncontrollable and in california I would get marijuana infused drinks...i know it's illegal in texas but if you have uncontrollable seizure with a prescription it's legal...he basically said no he would not recommend that because he said i would use it not for medical purposes... i only drink the marijuana to sleep because I have seizures every night all night and get only 3 hours of sleep..he was not opened to the idea...he was even corrected me… when I told him about my diagnoses...i would NOT recommend him at all...

Dr. Perkins has been invaluable to us. My son has refractory epilepsy and Dr. Perkins has been there with us every step of the way, through two EMU stays and a craniotomy. If you want the best make an appointment with him.

Dr. Perkins helps my little girl by using his open mind. he's real, he dont sugar coat everything. he's a great doc!

Dr. Perkins was mostly rude and unhelpful to our child during his hospitilizations. In fact, we feel his recommendations were unhelpful and harmful to our child's health. He did run some tests that we requested that were helpful. Even when other physician's made recommendations, he argued with them and was inaccurate in his assessments. Unfortunately, in our experience, we don't recommend him.

Our son has refratory epilepsy. Dr. Perkins was with us during his craniotomy and VNS implant. He has worked diligently to find the correct AED's for his condition. My son was in the hospital for 22 days after his craniotomy and Dr. Perkins was there every day to assess his progress. He is a gem of a doctor and a huge asset to Dell Children's Hospital. I unconditionally recommend him.

plain and simply best neurologist ever i had seen about 4 others before him and they wouldnt have done anything to help had it not been for him and explaining eery detail of everything and even bringing up the option of my brain surgery to remove the scar tissue and introducing me to doctor mark lee someone else you want if your gonna get the same surgery i did look him up, but if it wasnt because of doctor perkins i wouldnt have the bright future that is in my path

Great bedside manner. Very knowledgeable about behavioral pediatrics. We have been seeing him every four months, and are very happy with him!

Unfortunately, we had to see Dr Perkins while we were in the hospital rather than our usual Neurologist. He seemed angry to be bothered having to take care of our child and certainly didn't want to hear anything we had to say. Meanwhile, he talked nonstop and we could barely get a word in. I did not feel like we received good care from him.
