Dr. Frisca Lee Go, MD

I have been under the care of Dr. Frisco YAN-GO for more than 20 years approximately. She has taken care of my Sleep Disorder,restless leg syndrome, and migraines. Her appointments with me have been considerate of my needs. She is not one of these”” in and out doctors.” She’s very compassionate, and actually listens to the patient I would highly recommend her as she addresses more than one physical problem. She takes the time to explain her treatment plan and makes changes if needed. She’s easy to talk to and makes you feel comfortable.

I have been seeing Dr. Yan-Go for a few years now. She is an excellent doctor. She has been wonderful at helping me come to terms with changes I need to make in my life in order to improve my quality of life. She spends time to make sure that I understand my own issues and how to best work deal with them. She encourages me to improve all aspects of my life (not just one area). She practices what she teaches (which is admirable). I have found that many things she recommended (meds, lifestyle adjustments and habits) has helped me tremendously! Thank you Dr. Yan-Go!!

She was amazing ... My brother was on 17 meds and they were literally poisoning him. She took him off all the meds, said the Mayo Clinic diagnosis was hogwash ( Mayo said he would die within the year ) and it's been 4 years and he just shot an 81 at golf!!! He plays tennis 3Xs a week... Like I said, " She is amazing"

I have a rare form of dysautonomia. Dr Yan-Go is one of the few doctors on the west coast familiar with my disease. I have been seeing her for 18 months now.She was very thorough and took alot of time diagnosing and then teaching me about the mechanics of my disease, as well as tons of little daily life changes that improve my function, protect my brain, and ultimately extend my life. She made sure I took notes so I would be able to refer back to them as necessary. She sends 4 to 6 page reports to my PCP so he will know how to continue quality treatment between visits. Dr Yan-Go is highly qualified in several fields and she focuses on the whole person...physical, nutritional, sleep, exercize, and psychological. She is very compassionate. sometimes stern and sometimes if you feel she is not listeneing you have to let her know there is misunderstanding and she will do her best to work with patients. She is more focused on overall health than any doctor I have ever had. I don't know how I… would survive this disease so well without her!

I see her for a sleep disorder and find her to be very competent in that area. Though she is very busy, she asks good questions and answers whatever questions I have. She is very personable and seems to have a genuine interest in me and my welfare. Unlike some doctors, she does not interrupt me when I'm talking. It is her custom to give undivided, not rushed attention to me when I'm in her office. Yet she is quite efficient. She is very mindful of my time and apologized when I had to wait a bit at an appointment because the previous patient had a sudden, unexpected complication that really needed more of her time than scheduled by the office. She does her best to keep the out-of-pocket expense as low as possible for me, a retiree. The in-plan medical group I routinely go to for care does not have a doctor, even a referral doctor, who is qualified to treat sleep disorders like mine. So the health insurance that I have through my job does not cover doctor visits for it. She has… been very gracious in jumping through the repeated and excessive number of hoops (in my humble opinion) that the drug part of my plan requires. The reason for my giving only 3 stars for Ease of Appointment is not her fault. The office I see her at has a practice of not "opening" future months for appointment until the allotted time. So on occasion I have to call more than once to make an appointment.

This doctor advertises herself as an autonomic nervous system specialist. My experience with her in 2008 was horrific, and I have spoken to several other patients with dysautonomia who have had absolutely negative experiences with this woman.

Even though she and the office are always busy, I always feel like I'm getting her undivided attention in the office. She really tries to solve my issues and concerned about my health and well-being.

A dozen years ago I read William Dement's "The Promise of Sleep," and recognized that I had two risk factors for sleep apnea: hypothyroidism and obesity. The responsible thing to do was rule out that I might have sleep apnea, so I set up an appointment to see Dr. Frisca Yan-Go, who had been recommended in the book. After an overnight study, it was determined that I did indeed have obstructive sleep apnea. Dr. Yan-Go recommended an excellent respiratory care equipment provider, Home Respiratory Care, in Westwood, and I have been following her recommendations ever since. How grateful I feel to her to be the recipient of her excellent caring advice so that I can sleep very well with my quiet CPAP equipment.May I say here that subsequently I have met several people, who have been diagnosed at other clinics, who choose not to follow medical advice regarding their sleep apnea. They do so at their own peril. It was an adjustment to decide to make, to give myself a month to get used to… CPAP equipment, but I'm so glad I did! Thank you very much, Dr. Yan-Go!
