I am generally a very easy patient but have a very high expectation of what I want from my doctors. Dr Sawhney met all of these expectations and more. As a person with optic nerve damage and some loss of vision due to glaucoma it was critical for me to find the best specialist when I moved to Atlanta. I am thankful I was referred to Dr Sawhney. He is an extremely caring, knowledgeable and empathetic professional. He listens and patiently answers all questions. Thanks to his careful monitoring of my glaucoma and his referral to a highly skilled cornea specialist I was able to have cornea surgery which restored vision that had been lost due to a cornea disease. That is amazing!!

Dr. Sawhney is well educated and very knowledgeable about his chosen profession. This is evident when he speaks about your condition. But that does not translate to good patient care. His staff does not help the cause. They are friendly and courteous, but seem rushed and look like they are just going through the motions. After a recent procedure, I was escorted through the exit door with only some pills (I had to insist that I must be told what they are) in a plain envelope and a prescription. There were no after care instructions. I found myself calling the office repeatedly just to figure out what I was supposed to do in certain situations (I found out later that none of those calls are recorded in my chart). A few days later, I received a message with an appointment date. I assumed it was a follow up for the procedure, only to find out, it was to perform the procedure on the other eye! I was still having problems with the first procedure! And then the office.....a while… back, I showed up for an appointment and they said the doctor was not available and they had tried to contact me to cancel the appointment. Unfortunately, that was not true. I had been in the office a week before and they had confirmed the appointment. Additionally, I received a text message the day before, confirming my appointment. I was also able to show them that I had not received any calls from them on my cell phone. No apologies were offered.
