Dr. Gale L Hobson, PhD

Dr. Hobson (in my opinion) is a toxic narcissist and I don't say that lightly. She would spend much of our appointments talking about her academic achievements, denigrating my psychiatrist and talking up the radio show she hosts. It never felt like the meetings that I was paying for were about me. As if this wasn't enough, she would discourage me from taking my psychiatric medication, because as a woman in her 60's she was only taking medication for gastric issues. I would outline her behavior to my friends (of which some were becoming therapists themselves) and they would tell me I absolutely needed to leave. Finally, when she began speaking to me in what I felt was a very unpleasant and aggressive tone during meetings, I finally mustered the courage to end things. It seems that some people have had gratifying experiences with her. I can imagine that's possible. Maybe her behavior is situational. But anyone considering seeing her should know the warning signs and when to jump… ship.

Dr. Hobson has provided therapy that has helped me through a difficult time.

This woman is a lying fraud who will do whatever she can to take as much of your money as possible. Do NOT engage in any way, shape, or form with her

I learned so much about how my old family patterns affect issues today. I learned I could make different choices. Dr Hobson helped me grow. Great experience!

Pleasant enough but not particularly interested. Completely inept on the diagnostic and treatment suggestions as I later discovered. Fails to recognize her own lack of knowledge. Can be dangerous when she makes medical suggestions but luckily our physician knew better. Unfortunately, she doesn't know her own field either. Probably best to avoid this one if you have a problem or need some help.
