Long story short: I went here and paid $400 to have my ingrown toenail removed and he told me if in 90 days something goes wrong he’ll fix it for free. After 2 months of following his care instructions my toe still wouldn’t heal and I called back to inform him and they told me I had to pay AGAIN to have it fixed even though it was still well in the 90 day time frame. This Gary W. Chandler, DPM is way over priced and a crook who does not care about your health, he just wants you to keep coming back so he can take as much of your money as he can. It has been months and my toe still will not heal no matter what care instructions I follow. I showed it to another podiatrist, and she said I need to set up and appointment to have it redone because she believes his sloppy work either damaged my nail bed or left a nail fragment that is preventing it from healing. Please don’t risk your foot health on this guy, he’s over priced and the pain I’ve had to endure since he damaged my toe I would not… wish on my enemies. I personally am a real patient of Gary W. Chandler, DPM, I’m not sure if these other reviews are real or not because I don’t have high expectations but the dishonest treatment I received from this office is unacceptable and I don’t want anyone else falling victim to it. I got an ingrown toenail on my left foot and knew I needed to have the partial nail removal surgery done on it because I had the exact same ingrown toe nail on my right foot 10 years ago. I knew my left toe would be ingrown so when It did I was unable to find my original podiatrist so I researched and Gary seemed like a good choice. I set up an appointment, went in and the nurses were all so very nice and friendly. Gary came in and seemed nice and numbed my toe and preformed the procedure similarly to what I was expecting until he took this tiny ice-cream scoop tool and removed the entire side of my cuticle. It did not look like it needed to be removed and the surgery id had done on my right foot 10 years ago didn’t, but I told myself “this is his profession surly he knows what he’s doing”. I had to remind him I had asked for the removed nail section to be deaden because he wasn’t going to do that. After it was all done he told me I had antibiotics sent to my pharmacy and handed me care instructions which he went over. I was not to soak my toe at all, just to keep his bandage on for a couple days then remove and just keep changing the bandages twice a day, no ointments. He told me that in 90 days if there was any issue that he would fix it for free, and I said good to know (cuticle thing worried me). I went back in a week and I pointed out the crater that was where my cuticle should be and the nurse didn’t appear to like how bad my toe looked but Gary said it looked like it was healing good. It was not, it was a blue and purple mess. I had 2 craters one was where the nail used to be (expected) and the other was the cuticle should have been. I called him 2 months later and said I’ve been following your instructions and have gotten 2 refills on the antibiotics and it still hasn’t healed and I was informed that I had to pay them again for him to fix it. I told them about his promise to fix it if in 90 days for free and they denied it saying I had to pay them again! I had already paid $400 cash for the original surgery because my insurance wouldn’t cover it, and I had been doing everything he said to get it to heal. I’ve tried pedicures, I’ve tried the healing instructions from several websites, the salt soak from my first toe surgery, I have tried everything to keep from having to go back in to a podiatrist and paying $$$ to have it redone. It has been infection free the entire time, my nail is healthy and growing normally and not ingrown, I check that every 2 weeks, I keep the cuticle groomed. I’ve researched how to pedicure so much I’m just as good as the pretty Asian girls that are the best. I have set up an appointment with a highly recommended podiatrist from Chisolm trail orthopedics and I hope these months of pain and flipflops are coming to an end.
