Dr. Gary Steven Deguzman, MD

I've been looking for a Dr. DeGuzman that literally saved my life in Fulton County medical center in summer of 1997. 1 was dying from Septic Shock at 18 yrs old 3 wks post op from a c section Chambersburg hospital did, I'd been in Chambersburg hospital for 7 days prior to going to Fulton County 2 days later. Long story but im looking for this Dr to thank him almost 27 yrs later. - Brandy Glaser

I started w/ him in 2009. Heard he was easy on the eyes but his bedside manner wasn’t for every gal. I LOVE HIM! My 1st baby had a Choroid plexus cyst on her brain. He wrote the name down for me but then took it back & said “I told you not to worry “ (I liked him that instant) Skip to my 2nd that had one too but the real concern was when I thought I had a uti but went in for check up & heartbeat couldn’t be found. He fired up the ultrasound machine & did one himself (not the tech) & saw my uterus was entrapped (around 12 weeks pregnant) . He had never had a patient w/ one but stayed calm & his intuition told him what to do. My bladder had been retaining 3times the normal amount & could have burst. Trust him more than any other doc in my 44 years !!!!! On the day we were supposed to bring our 3rd baby home, my hubby died tragically & unexpectedly… I dont like all hugs but he unexpectedly hugged me and insisted I should get a shot of lorazepam that I was refusing… I knew to trust… him. And I will NEVER forget that surprise hug. IT WAS MY FIRST & ONLY MOMENT OF COMFORT FOR A VERY LONG TIME!!!! Never forget him looking at me after birth while stitching me & saying “oh now, you are in pain” hahaha. Nothing beats his brain & experience & intuition !!! And the ornery grin after a one liner . Usually a man of few words unless necessary. He also has performed a LEEP , discovered my Hashimotos & managed it for a bit till I found a doc in that area of expertise even better than an endocrinologist. Im sure I have other stories but those are the ones popping up. I hope he is living his best life & has the best patients ever wherever he goes! And the day he retires, is a day that the medical field loses a legend! God bless his family & bloodline too!

Stay away from this doctor! Should retire ASAP. He does not care about his patients anymore like he used to. It seems to be all about making money and trying to force women to have a hysterectomy, even if they don’t need this drastic procedure. He is always in a hurry and rarely has a logical and practical answer to your questions. Most of the time, his answers don’t even make sense. He has very little knowledge about hormones, so menopausal women should choose a different doctor. In fact, I’d advise ALL women to look elsewhere for a gynecologist. Sad because he used to be a caring doctor, but all of his good traits have disappeared. Time to retire instead of treating women like they have no value and their concerns aren’t valid.

I went to Dr. Deguzman for post menopausal bleeding. He did an internal and found a cyst on my ovary. He very rudely told me that he was going to remove my organs since I didn't need them anymore. He was very nonchalant when telling me I could have cancer or maybe not. I left his office in tears. At my post-op appointment, he was very nasty when I told him that I was still having pain and when I asked if it was normal. He talked down to me like I was garbage then squeezed my arm with all his might and asked me "Do you feel this?" I was shocked!!! I will NEVER go back to this doctor ever again!!

I went to the hospital on 10/6 because I was having contractions. This was the Dr. On call for the weekend. I never saw a Dr until 3 something a.m. On 10/7. He is not my normal Dr. I was treated worse than a farm animal. This Dr never actually spoke to me, just in my general direction. He came in to check me and proceeded to break my water. Then ordered pitocin. This was my first child and I was scared... He didn't make it any better. I had my daughter on 10/7 at 3:38p.m. I had to wait over 2 hours for him to finish another birth before they increased the pitocin and push. After an hour and a half he decided to join the room and assist with the birth. I begged the nurse to not call him and just do it herself because I was so upset just by his gruff attitude. He walked in and within minutes he decided to use forceps to deliver her. I ended up with a third degree tear and he cut me. He ripped my daughter from me with one rough pull of the forceps and he was very rough, ripping the heart… rate monitor off of her head. He then basically threw her onto my chest, after I begged and pleaded with him to give her to me. I then proceeded to have nightmares about the birth for several nights afterwards. Also he perscribed Percocet and it drugged me up so bad that I could make sense that my daughter is wouldn't wake up to nurse because she was drugged out of her mind also. This Dr will never touch me or any children I have in the future.

He is extremely knowledge. He also stays calm even during stressful situations. He will be delivering our second child here soon. He has also helped me through preterm labor and a preterm delivery. He knew exactly what to do!

I have to say I have never felt so belittled as a woman , I asked this person to help me until I could get to my surgeon at ucla for mesh removal, he proceeds to tell me he has to insert mesh into patient in ten minutes and it's the women suing that are ruining this great awesome product , performed an internal w no nurse and told my sister to leave the room cause my baby was crying , he should not be allowed to treat mesh victims a like trash!!!

Gary is very rude. I went to him with bladder problems, and sure he gave me plenty of Medicine, but his manners are awful. After excruciating bladder pain I requested that he not use a catheter, he went ahead anyways and I suffered more than I started with. He is so aggressive I actually fear going to him for help. Anybody is better than this guy!

Gary is rude ,arrogant and thinks he knows everything these types of people truely scare me...He is a good surgeron..However doesnt follow through afterwards,is not at all caring.He screamed at a nurse through my daughter whole deliveryfor bothering him first off my daughters soecial moment and a very sweet nurse ,I was appalled .He gave me very poor care after my surgery the surgery went really well once again bedside manner alot to be desired and it took my family DR CONSULTING WITH ANOTHER GYNOCOLOGIST which I switched to now to get me straightened out...A DR IN AN emergency your fine other than that I wouldnt bother!!!!!!!One day maybe he will figure out we all put our pants on the same way and hes just a JERK!!!
