Dr. Kelly William Rising, MD

Dr. Rising is an excellent physician. He is so attentive and knowledgeable about his field. I would recommend him to any of my friends who are looking for an outstanding OBGYN in Southeast Texas.

The staff was very disappointing. They were not friendly, I felt very uncomfortable & it wasn't even a busy day. On my first visit, I expressed concern over anxiety & was basically preached to about religion instead of being given other ways of coping in a healthy way without the use of medication. (Religion is fine, I have God in my life, but what I needed was medical expertise from them.) When I was speaking to the billing person who tells you about all the fees that you should expect, she was talking so fast (with a mean, aggressive, bug eyed look on her face) that I couldn't understand her. I was charged for the visit & the labs & was given a huge list of things that apparently "my insurance" told them I'd have to cover throughout my pregnancy (it was thousands upon thousands of dollars). The strange thing is, I have since switched doctors & on the first visit I was told that I have only ONE co-pay for my ENTIRE pregnancy & I am yet to pay for any lab fees or anything else myself.… My insurance has been billed for everything. (We have a great & very expensive insurance.) Before I switched, I was scheduled to see Dr. Rising for my results & was scheduled by the appointment setter specifically on a Monday so that I can have an ultrasound (it's the only day she said that he does them. She knew I was a new patient.) When I called to confirm, I was told by his nurse that he does not do them on the first appointment. He only does them at the 20 week mark & blamed me for the mistake. Now, I would not abort my child simply for having a birth defect, but finding out at the 20 month mark leaves no one the choice. Especially since the nurse who interviews you discourages doing the blood work to find out bc she said everything you need to find out, you'll see on the ultrasound. The ultrasound which would be conducted at 20 weeks!
