Dr. Gary Robert Fornera, MD

I had surgery 2 times in the mid 90's by Dr. Gary both for what he called the worst cases of endometriosis he had ever seen. The 1st wasn't a bad experience with him,but I heard later that he had recently gotten his license back after being caught the 1st time for cocaine use, so possibly he was still clean and in treatment/tested. I actually loved him as far as doctors go, and recommended him always. He delivered 2 friends babies, and did a hysterectomy for another friend. The treatment during labor of both births I found out later, was quite heinous. One having the new father push quite violently on his wife's tummy when the placenta didn't expel itself quickly enough for the doctor, and using questionable language and tones less than soothing during a difficult situation. My 2nd experience was a subtle change in his personality. Weight loss, just not the same sweet manner as before. On my return for my 8 week checkup post surgery, he had lost more weight, was very… agitated, and even asked me if I had money to pay him even though I had signed an agreement to a payment plan and most doctors leave the financial matters to the office managers. I could see through experiences with friends with substance abuse issues that the rumors I had been hearing were most likely true. Within aprox 6 months, Mama gave me a paper clipping announcing his arrest and loss of license. The really galling and painful part is that aprox 10 years later, I had pain and all too familiar symptoms and after an inter vaginal ultrasound, was found to have a huge tumor or cyst in my abdomen again! I ended up having it removed, along with part of my colon, and an ovary! The only way that could be possible is that either I had 3 ovaries to begin with (that Dr.Gary missed in his highness...twice!) Or I grew another somehow. All of it seems pretty suspicious to me. I ended up in bankruptcy court due to a30 thousand dollar bill that I could not afford, and a lot of mental disorders that I am now on disability from. I feel sorry for him and his now grown daughter, because addiction is an illness, but I don't believe he should be given the trust to wield a scalpel, or be trusted to bring another life into the world. He should have to compensate those of us countless, to him, faceless victims who he put in this position we are in. I can't even leave my home some days, have chronic depression, anxiety panic disorder, ptsd,and a very hard time finding a doctor I can trust. Thank you doctor Fornera, I hope you are happy with the predicament you have put countless women through. I hope someone actually reads these that matters or that I make a difference to some unsuspecting woman looking for a good doctor.....Roberta (Scott) Kellogg

I had problems for years that no other gynecologist could diagnose. Gary was a true blessing and knew exactly what was wrong.

As of 2019, this doctor is practicing in Wellsboro, PA. Worst experience ever. He gave me his phone number on our first visit, he told me he was going to give me treatment one way and then turned around and went against what he said on the second visit. Gave painful pap smears and literally said "I like to make them bleed."

He caused me to have a c-section because of misdiagnosing a pelvic disorder. Severe pain and complications. He had to have another doc finish my surgery because he was stoned. I had a twin die because of him. He disappeared during my pregnancy. We found out he was in rehab. Several people lost babies and he should not be allowed to practice. I thought he had lost his license. Now I find him practicing in TN. Who cares right?

A doctor that truly cared about his patients and even on his day off would come check on me and my baby. This man always went above and beyond to help his patients. I loved hearing my doctors voice in the hallways, if you were sad he could always put a smile on your face. Before surgery he would always assure me that I was going to be ok and even held my hand until the anastasia kicked in because I was scared. This man and God are miraculous. Thanks for being amazing Gary Robert Fornera.

Horrible doctor with a history of substance abuse. I found out through the state of Tn website. Told me different things at each appointment that didn't add up.
