Dr. Gary Edward Goff, MD

My first appointment was with Dr. Goff himself. I found him competent and knowledgeable. The second appointment was with a physician that was learning. This was a big mistake. Went in for a physical (insurance covers 1 a year completely), hardly anything was done, but a bunch of lab tests were ordered. I get a bill from the lab for $900. I went back to the doctors office and they state that it was because no coding was applied to any of the tests. They state they will work on it, and I haven't heard anything. Got my insurance involved and they stated most of it is covered and why did they order extra tests for the same thing? Now I am still dealing with this 6 months later and the billing clerk is either out sick or not there, and they state there was turn over with the lab people and they would work on it (still not done). Now, they are refusing to refill medications. HORRIBLE incompetent office staff.

I love the Efficiency of my recent visit, and that the entire staff seemed upbeat and happy to be working.

I have been seeing Dr. Goff since 2013. He is so very attentive, compassionate and thorough to all of his patients. He individualizes treatment. I say this because he has treated my grandfather, my mom and her sister. He takes his time and explains lab results and treatment options. He went over every single lab result. There was no long wait. I prepare myself at any doctor office there will be some wait time. Especially if there is a critical patient and the thorough care that Dr. Goff gives each and everyone of his patients. I would expect the same attention for me for any other patient. I have worked in doctors offices people come in with lots of concerns and questions. Dr. Goff will address/answer every question and concern. I wait on my turn because I want the same treatment as the next patient. I do not believe the previous negative comments about Dr. Goff directly. If you want the BEST doctor in DFW choose Dr Goff.

I usually don't write reviews but I feel compelled to write this one. I have never experienced a more unprofessional doctor. As many of the reviews have stated the wait times at his office is a problem, the last two times I was there I waited over hour in an exam room without ever being seen. The last time I finally left and merely sent him a text to let him know that I had waited an hour without being seen and had to leave for an appointment. He was nice enough to call later that evening to follow up. What transpired next was shocking. He was very defensive said it was normal for someone to wait over an hour and that if I wanted to be seen on a timely fashion I should get a concierge doctor and he no longer wanted to see me as a patient. All I really expected was sorry you had to wait but instead I got very defensive, angry and combative response. I just recently asked for my records to give to a new doctor and it was again a shock to see that all previous records were fine… but the last record he decided to fill it with personal attacks missing information and lies. One mistruth was that I refused to take my Cholesterol medicine. I merely told him that I was concerned with statin medicines due to there side effects and if there were other options. I post this so that other people can see this and see if there is a pattern of this Dr who clearly only cares about his perceptions and not the well being of his patients which I think should be the number one attribute in a good Dr.

My family all sees Dr. Goff. My mother started seeing Dr. Goff first about 15 years ago. She has memory issues and only feels comfortable meeting with Dr. Goff because she remembers him and respects him. Dr. Goff has treated her patiently even though I understand the situation can be frustrating. My daughter has had several back issues. We visited multiple physicians throughout the city, but Dr. Goff was the first physician to get my daughter accepted in the Mayo clinic, which turned out to be life changing. I have seen several people writing about having to wait to see Dr. Goff. I understand this, and I have had to wait on occasion as well, but I would much rather have a doctor that is willing to take the time to speak to me when something is wrong rather than the typical physician that allots you 5 minutes and barely takes the time to notice you exist. A doctor cannot predict when emergency type situations may occur, and if something like this happens to me, I would much… rather have a doctor that spends the time needed to properly diagnose my problem and make me feel comfortable, even if that means I wait an extra 20 minutes on some other visit so that he can provide the same service to a different patient. I am grateful doctors like this still exist and I trust Dr. Goff without reservation with all of my family's healthcare. I highly recommend him.

Excellent experience! Staff was outstanding and kind

The worse doctor's office I have ever dealt with. They can't get anything done correctly but they can definitely sell you (just like a used car salesmen) whatever equipment or procedures they can make extra money on. The staff is rude and incompetent. They can't even find my CT scan order in their system but when I call the diagnostic imaging center, they have a copy of the order with his name on it. His wife / office manager doesn't know how to deal with patients but she has a lot of time to come and talk to us about selling one of their procedures. The staff puts you on hold over 15 mines and never pick up. When I call back, they are rude and non apologetic about their behavior. Also their lab has sent me an invoice of $3800 for a routine yearly check up and apparently the office manager / his wife says it's a mistake somebody will call me in a few minutes but of course it's been hours and body has called to fix this issue. Bottom line, STAY AWAY from this office. All the… bad reviews are accurate and on point and I agree with all of them. I will file a complaint with Medical board as well.

This is the worst doctor's office ever - from the providers to staff. It is complete incompetence at every level. 1) False billing. I've met with them twice and have had to argue with them and the insurance company because they billed for things they didn't do to increase their billing from the insurance company. They also sent the same set of blood tests to their own lab and to an out-of-network lab. I don't know why the blood was sent twice for the same results. But obviously the insurance company refused to cover this and it fell on me to pay. 2) Incompetent providers. How difficult is it to write for medications? I tell them what I take and they send it to the pharmacy (none of them are controlled substances). But they manage to write for it incorrectly and I can't get them filled (and I know I didn't write them wrong because I have to be a physician myself). 3) Medication refills. This was requested for a week ago. They told me they would refill it but then don't. … They also stop answering phone calls at 4pm which is ridiculous since most offices close as 5pm.

Goff has the ability to be a great doctor but until he is willing to pay for competent front desk staffing and office management, his practice will never be good for a patient. RUN, don’t go to this practice. Very frustrating to deal with this incompetent group even though I really think the Dr is good. Just not worth the frustration.

My only complaint is that if I have to call in I can never gets hold of anyone and they don’t return phone calls!
