He is too busy trying to be funny to be a real doctor. He missed skin cancer on my arm for 2 years. Within 5 minutes of my first visit of my new doctor I had a ref for a dermatologist and an appointment for two days later. He spends most of his time telling jokes and talking to his do nothing office staff. It's no wonder that the man is in trouble with the state medical board. Do yourself a favor and do your research.

If an internist is supposed to be an excellent diagnostician go to Dr. Kerkvliet. If a doctor is supposed to be empathetic. Go to Dr. Kerkvliet. If a doctor is supposed to be up on medications, support, have excellent referrals to the right specialist. Go to Dr. Kerkvliet. If a doctor is warm and funny and human. Go to Dr. Kerkvliet. I could go on and on. He cared for my husband with Alzheimer's and for me as a caretaker along with an older person's inevitable problems. I cannot believe my good luck. He has a picture of his dad whom he adored. I wish his father could have seen the wonderful son he gifted the world with.

Dr Kerkvliet is the perfect physician for me. He is understanding, non- judgemental, and readily listens to opinions. He is very thorough and reviews imaging etc to ensure a complete understanding of findings. I feel I can tell him anything and receive accurate medical advice and diagnosis. He goes out of his way to understand the situation and manage expectations and outcomes. After numerous physicians were dismissive of my concern, Dr. K listened to me and went above and beyond to determine the cause, treated my issue, and resolved it relatively quickly. His staff is amazing also.

Total overall care was done in a timely manner consistent within the operation of the facility. The Physician and staff were both approachable and courteous. Referrals to other physicians were executed in accordance with final Diagnosis.

I have seen this doctor for several years now due to a few chronic conditions. He has always made me feel validated in my concerns and will thoroughly go over test results and imaging with his patients. He tends to run behind but once you see him, you understand that he doesn't end your visit until he is sure that you have covered everything and that all of your questions are answered. I also have A LOT of respect for a physician who will say "I don't know" when it comes to a medical issue or test results. When he refers you to a specialist, you can bet that they are one of the best. He is great for the nervous or anxious patient and for people who need more talk time with their doctor. He is very kind and very patient. His support staff are amazing too.

Dr. Kerkvleit was on call for my GP this past Saturday. Was very kind, excellent bedside manner, very thorough in his thought processes and diagnosis. Spent a good amount of time with me and followed up the following day. Great experience under a scary situation. Very much appreciate doctors like him!

I have to say that I met Dr K at another hospital, and he was so dedicated to helping me to getting well after an almost fatal health issue, I can't ever think of myself under the care of anyone else! Amanda and him are such a team, I had to follow them to Mercy, he is remarkable how he can be so sociable making you feel at ease, and at the same time he knows what he is doing and is extremely knowledgeable! I hope I'm a lifetime patient!!
