Dr. Gary S Kirman, OD

GARY S. KIRMAN, ODThe son of Dr. Shahane and Janet Kirman, Gary was born and raised in Hummelstown, PA. Sharing his father’s interest in optometry, he earned a B.S. in Biology at Lafayette College (1982) and received his doctorate from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry (1986). Since earning his doctorate, Dr. Kirman has earned many awards and national recognition within his field. He has served through the chairs of the Central Pennsylvania Optometric Society and was the first optometrist to receive the “Young Optometrist of the year award” from the Pennsylvania Optometric Association. Since 2014, Dr. Kirman has been a Key Opinion Leader for MacuLogix and is one of the only twenty KOL’s for MacuLogix in the nation. Dr. Kirman has spoken about early detection of Macular Degeneration at conferences in the U.S and abroad. He is also on Johnson and Johnson’s Contact Lens Speakers Bureau.Dr. Kirman is also passionate about changing the way people think about their eye care. He is …leading other eye care professionals in a new direction for patient care that benefits patients everywhere. Although he has a busy professional life, Dr. Kirman has always found time to support those in need. He was a member of two mission teams that provided eye care to the people of Dominica and Belize. While there, Dr. Kirman helped the teams deliver needed routine eye care, post-operative eye care, treatment of eye disease, and dispensing of spectacles to the people in these two countries.Outside of the office, Dr. Kirman spends time with his wife Jodi, and their four children, Phillip, Joshua, Nathanael, and Olivia.
