Dr. Gary J Richmond, MD

The receptionist are extremely rude and uncaring. Put a call in at 10am called back at 2pm and was questioned if I was a patient. Recieved a call at 4:30pm and told to go to Urgent care where I already was. I had acute bronchitis and was told to follow up with Dr. Called and couldn't get appt until May. I have decided to find another Dr. I saw Jason who is great but if you can't get to see him it really doesn't matter. By the way Holy Cross Urgent care was wonderful.

I have been his patient for over 10 years and am totally satisfied. He and his staff are courteous, understanding, compassionate, ready and willing to help. And they do!!!

I am lucky to have been able to get in to see this doctor. He is very well known, respected, and knowledgeable about HIV and Pulmonary diseases. He is caring and compassionate. He changes meds to make taking them easier and less complicated. Since I've been with him (1 year) my labs have improved markedly. I whole-heartedly recommend Dr. Richmond. The only drawback is he is so busy I can't get my partner in to see him, and we had to find another Family Doctor for him.

He's a great guy. He wasn't real warm when I was first in his practice but over the years either he's changed or he just takes time to warm up to people. He and everybody in the office has a really caring attitude. I just changed insurance and if he hadn't been one of the doctors in their plan I don't think I would have gone with that insurance. I've referred people to him who have also had good experience with the office.

I just wanted to share my experience, which obviously is not typical for this physician, but it is true. He was my deceased wife's primary physician, I believe. Sometime in mid-2011, he diagnosed my wife with pneumonia. Obviously this resulted from a chest x-ray, not a CT scan, which was not performed. As the months drew on, and her condition deteriorated drastically, we made our last trip together to the ER at Broward General Medical Center. Triage put her at the top of the list. She had been diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer. No CT scan was done until the cancer had spread to the liver, bones and brain. I wanted to have a last-ditch chemotherapy treatment done, but Dr. Richmond still was still sticking to the pneumonia story, so even that was delayed. Impressive that Dr. Richmond listened to my wife's breathing through her clothing, which, I have been told by a cardiologist, can give just the sound of the cloth. My wife died from lung cancer, but Dr. Richmond's office called me at… home some time after her death, asking if my wife were going to her scheduled office appointment. Very sad. I hope I never meet another pulmonary specialist like this doctor.
