Dr. Gary Louis Sugarman, MD

Dr Sugarman is a caring, committed and knowledgeable doctor. He listens to concerns and gives you direct answers. He personally calls in the evening to discuss lab results. Dr and staff remind me of the doctors of long ago, who care about you and not how much they can make from treating you. Highly recommend.

I was referred to Dr. Sugarman, after my previous doctor (internist) retired. Since I had been with my previous doctor for over 20 years, I was very concerned about how I would be treated. I could not have been more presently surprised, with the service of Dr. Sugarman and his office staff. Being a sole practitioner, I did not go through the cattle call I have had with my other specialists. He was always well prepared to see me with lab results and the notes of my previous visit. His care and concern for his patients is obvious, and he has always gotten back to be the same day when I call the office with a concern or request for a prescription renewal. He usually calls after I get home from work at the end of the day, to fit MY schedule rather than his. If you’re concerned about someone who cares about you, he’s the one you want; his knowledge of lab tests and specialists you may need is especially helpful!

My whole family sees Dr. Sugarman and he is such a caring doctor. He has called me way after business hours with reports and answers to our many questions. He takes the time to explain every detail and calms us down when we get new treatments for diabetes. In this day and age with everything going fast he slows things down so the common person understands. I would and have recommended him on several occasions.

Dr Sugarman is the best in O.C. He (WAS) our family doc for 10 yrs. My wife and my 15yr old daughter enjoyed their visits especially when he enters the exam room with his high pitch "Hi, how you doing today". A doc who actually listens and cares about his patients and will do as much as possible to diagnose an illness...will even confer with specialists on diagnosis. Had to leave him due to insurance change. Haven't found anyone close to Dr. S. His staff is great too!

Staff is friendly and kind.Doctor Sugarman is by far the best physician I have ever had. His record keeping is superb.I have never walked out of his office questioning if he really cared about me.The only reason the wait time is an issue; he does not rush anyone out of his office. He is personable, kind and really genuinely cares about YOU!
