Dr. Gary Edwin Winchester, MD

It's no wonder there are so many complaints in the reviews, they are more than justified. Dr. Winchester and is staff are exceptionally rude, I have never encountered a practice like this and cannot believe they are still licensed. I highly recommend using any and all alternatives to Dr. Winchester. I cannot in good faith recommend this practice, especially for those looking for quality care for serious or chronic conditions. The staff went so far as to patronize my knowledge of the disease I’ve had my entire life and has continually mocked the severity of my condition both during scheduling, visits, and other interactions. It’s a wonder an ethics complaint hasn’t shut this place down, although I expect with a practice like this it’s a matter of time.

He always refers you to a specialist as if he does not want to treat you himself. I had an A1C of 7.3 and he refused to treat me for diabetes. His staff and nurse seem to take a great deal of satisfaction in providing the least amount of help as possible. Rude.

Time for this doctor to retire. He has a poor bedside manner. A dead fish would have a better one. But of greater concern is the fact that he is egotistical and out of date. There is a reason why he is taking new patients and the other doctor in there is not. He is not as good! I would even go with the young kid that is there in his practice with little experience over this guy. And the kid graduated from the bottom tier FSU medical school. All that and I would still go with him over Winchester.

I gave this doctor a second try after my in-laws raved about him. (They've been seeing him for YEARS) I was in the process of asking him a question when he walked out of the exam room and didn't return!! He was supposed to refer my son to a specialist and never did. And I went in complaining of knee pain and he told me to lose weight. Second opinion showed a torn meniscus. I tell everyone to avoid Dr. Winchester.

Have been a patient of Dr. Winchester for over 15 years during which we have had to deal with some very serious situations. Dr. Winchester's diagnosis and recommendations have been critical at least twice to dealing with situations that had been less clearly resolved by other physicians. Most important, he was timely in getting me to the exact help needed. He has been excellent in his expertise and guidance. Very clear and helpful in getting through the specialists necessary to resolve serious situations. There could be no physician any better.
