Dr. Bhakta's personalized service is exactly what you hope for with "concierge medicine." House calls? You bet, and that's just the beginning. My father has been a patient for several years, and I've received the benefits of Dr. Bhakta's knowledge and care by proxy throughout the last year, so I share my experience on both our behalves with permission. Dr Bhakta has been a strong patient advocate as well. SLO county's medical system is overworked and understaffed with specialists, but Dr. Bhakta has acted as a true concierge to help my family navigate the hoops and hurdles (and cut through the bull) presented by the complicated medical system. For example, I didn't even realize diabetes was reversible until speaking with him. But his knowledge and guidance helped my dad reverse his type 2 diabetes, and brought my blood sugar from a risky zone into the healthy zone. He takes as much time as needed to explain medical issues, answer questions, make sure everything is understood and… even go into detail about the science involved if you want. He's also well connected to very good local specialists and gives well-informed referrals when needed. The one main specialist he referred us to is so cool, he probably deserves a review of his own. He's always available -- in the rare case he can't take a call, he always returns the call as soon as possible. He even made a trip down to Santa Barbara when my dad was in the emergency room at Cottage Hospital. Dr. Bhakta continues his education by studying new medical breakthroughs and technologies and staying on top of new developments related to his specialties. He offers sound medical expertise with the personalized touch of family doctors from a long-gone era. I can't recommend Dr. Bhakta enough.

Being one of his patients for the last 6 years has allowed me to reclaim my health and spend my hard earned dollars on something besides ER visits and medical bills.… I thank God for him and can't recommend him highly enough as a concierge physician.
