Dr. Gavin Schwarz, MD

Dr Schwartz and the staff were all wonderful. Attentive throughout my son’s roof challenge and they answered all my questions. Sat down and discussed long term goals for progress with my son's allergies. I felt heard in regards to goals of care. And all my questions were answered.

Probably the worst doctor's appointment I've ever been a part of. Dr. Schwartz arrived, having no idea of my child's name (searching awkwardly on a laptop for it), had obviously not reviewed any of the myriad documents that were sent over with her referral, and was cold and dismissive the entire appointment. He never once attempted to even speak to my daughter, who was having a trauma response to her medical situations and only the two other residents with him showed even the slightest amount of empathy by putting a tissue box at her feet. Dr. Schwartz more or less ignored my daughter's mother and instead spoke directly to me throughout, dismissed the referring doctor's practice as "esoteric," and twice said, "I don't know what they do over there." When asked about using a certain medication that was floated as an option for my daughter's allergies and immune system situation, he quickly shot it down, saying there is no research or studies into its use (there is) and again asserted… that the referring doctor's practice was "esoteric." I cannot believe that we were referred to this doctor, and we would never, ever return.

I really appreciate Dr. Schwarz's style. In a world where doctors are over-scheduled to hit patient quotas, CAAC refreshingly takes the patient focused approach. I feel Dr. Schwarz listens to all concerns and is very honest and genuine. I have never felt rushed or dismissed. He is trustworthy and relatable and because of this, we will continue to seek his expertise when it comes to our son's needs.

Such poor service and interaction. Please do yourself a favor and do not see this doctor. We were referred to Dr. Schwartz by our pediatrician to investigate a potential egg allergy for our 6 month old daughter. He was dismissive, hasty, and talked down to me the entire appointment. Dare I say, mansplaining? The procedures were not explained, and he clearly had no experience working with infants or making patients feel valued or heard. After a skin scratch test on my infant, I was told that I couldn’t breastfeed her to calm her down (I did it anyways) and when I asked about the results and how the test worked, he did not have the patience to explain it to me. Please don’t take your babies here! They deserve better!

Dr. Schwarz is an excellent doctor. He cares; he is friendly while maintaining professional and efficient service. I was so very thankful for the excellent care I received.

We started going to CAAC over 30 years ago after my youngest developed anaphylaxis to bee stings. We loved Dr. Rosen. Since he retired, we are so pleased that we found Dr. Schwarz. He really listens and works with you to come up with a plan of care. He also returns calls between appointments in a timely fashion.
