Dr. Gavin Nicholas Van Staden, MD

Inattentive, does not remember what he promised to do, requests useless visits. Does not know staff that he must know. Dropped him after a few months. Huge disappointment.

Literally does not care. Told me he doesn’t know what’s causing my symptoms and then told me that I’m “perfectly fine” after not wanting to look at prior lab results or order more labs. Don’t waste your time, he is clearly in it for the money and does not care about patients whatsoever. Literally laughed in my face when I told him another physician was concerned about my lab results and he refused to give me a referral to a specialist. In a previous appointment he told me I would need my gallbladder removed and sent me a referral to a surgeon without anything evidence or testing to back up that I needed surgery. Turns out I had some inflammation and that’s it. He is all over the place and extremely rude.

Amazing Doctor! He doesn't sugarcoat things and gets to the point. I don't want a Doctor who is afraid to tell the truth because they might offend me. Those Doctors are hiding behind the facts—very kind and understanding. Thanks for always being honest.

He was very polite but not friendly and seem to be in a hurry to finish and get to another patient. The wait time to see him was about 25 minutes and he spent less than 10 minutes with me. I asked him a question about Thyroid medication and he told me to make another appointment to discuss that with him.

I was referred to him by the best of the best hospitals in the state…The University of Utah Ed on medical drive gave me the BEST experience EVER. Referred me to Dr. V (for vampire), in his Farmington facility. WORST experience of my LIFE meeting a new doctor. I agree with all of the opinions of what a monster he is.

I only saw him once and I don’t plan to ever see him again. Extremely rude and condescending. Wouldn’t listen to anything I had to say and treated me like I was stupid. Don’t waste your time with this doctor!

Worked with this guy, the epitome of bi-polar, nice and courteous one minute, arrogant and horrific the next. Would not trust this guy.

He talked down to me whole ten minutes I saw him. Told me my back pain was in my head, which I told him right up front that wasn’t the reason I was there. I have a specialist I see for that. He then went on to say that the reason my back doctor does procedures on me that work for me, is so that he can get rich. What a jerk

Waited 20 minutes to get in. After MA checked over info, he came in now 30 minutes past my appt. was very condescending and arrogant.

I saw Dr. Van Staden for quite awhile. He went from being very nice in the first few visits to being horribly judgmental and rude to me on my last visit (hence, it was my last). Then, he tried to text me later to see how I was doing. Very weird experience. I suspect he's bipolar or something similar. I've never experienced such a change in treatment and personality from a doctor for seemingly no reason at all. And no, I was not seeking controlled medication of any kind, so his behavior cannot be attributed to him being fed up by a drug seeking patient. I do not fit that profile in any way shape or form-- I used Dr. Van Staden as an overall wellness care provider (gynecology, colds and flu, etc.). I have no idea why he acts this way and suggest he seek treatment himself.
