Dr. Gawtham Gutta, MD

He is so condescending. I wasn't able to convey my needs & when I did manage to speak, he got huffy & left the room. Came back with very rude remarks, told me not to speak & basically told me to find someone else, that he was going to report me!! I was dumbfounded by his unprofessionalism. Don't seek his help, he doesn't provide any. RUN

I have been seeing Dr. Gutta for about 11 yrs. He has also treated my Mother, brother and daughter. He is the best thing that has happened to me. He has taken the time and attention to treat a life altering injury I suffered 6 years ago. He has spent many hours with me to find solutions for me to "live my life". He is so kind, caring and compassionate! He has found so many other problems and referred my over to great doctors to help me get things under control. Dr. Gutta has helped me so much. Because of him I will be able to maintain a good quality of life!!!

Terrible. Find another pain doc. He rushes appt, doesn’t listen, abrupt, condescending and gave a bunch of verbal instructions but nothing I could take home to follow. Will not go back.

I've lived in San Francisco for 25 years and have seen top specialists, some of the top minds in the medical field and Dr. Gutta is of that caliber. He could easily be making big bucks helping wealthy people with their addictions somewhere else. Yet he is in Joliet, IL helping people in the most need. I think that is commendable as well, in addition to his expertise. Back in 2016 when i took over my mom's meds when she had cancer and found out she had been in the highest dosage opiate patch for a decade, i flipped out. We searched and i asked a friend for any names of doctors in this field. Specifically, Dr. Gutta's name came up twice. Glad we really searched hard to find where he went. He explained to my mother that her body was dependent on opiates even though she never was a drug seeker, which helped her understand something that no other doctors had explained before to her. Within 9 months he ramped her off 100mg patch. He was kind to her and extremely trustworthy. He also is firm… with patients following what he says, so he's not any kind of pushover. Anyway, if he can help anyone else's family in this area, that's my purpose of posting this. She'd still be his patient if she was still with us. Thank You so much Dr. Gutta!

My dad had knee surgery recently and the doctor prescribed a very low dose of pain medication. The PT and nurse both agreed the low dosage will PROHIBIT proper recovery because he should not be in pain during rehab. The doctor is unreachable, and has yet to follow up. Probably the worst doctor I’ve ever dealt with.

It has taken years to find a Dr. that actually listens, pays attention and takes action. I have had 17 surgeries over the years and have had many Doctors. Gutta is one of the best. He has helped me be able to sleep, manage the constant pain I can never get rid of but am able to now live my life with it. Dr Gutta has paid attention and has provided me with only the best of Dr’s to manage my health issues. He is very busy and his time is very important to me and I am very great full for the time he has taken to help me with my health. I will highly recommend him to anyone dealing with pain.
