By Angelo-I am a doctor myself and give Dr Shimokaji the highest marks as a surgeon and compassionate doctor. She works until she solves or fixes your problems and my surgery went perfectly!

I, Reginal Robinson want to take the time to praise Dr. Shimokaji for my Ophthalmological needs, both pre-and post Cataract surgery. I came to Dr. Shimokaji and scheduled an appointment after my previous eye doctor had retired. I had been diagnosed with Cataract but my previous doctor said to wait to have the surgery. I was having problems with my vision as a result. During my 1st appointment with Dr. Shimokaji, she advised me to have the procedure and the date was set to remove the cataract in my left eye. I felt very comfortable with Dr. Shimokaji. Not only did she assuage any fears I may have had about the procedure, but more importantly, she encouraged me because it would greatly improve my vision. The surgery itself was in a very relaxed environment, and Dr. Shimokaji visited me post op. and asked how I was doing, and more importantly, if there was anything she could do for me. To me, this speaks volumes about Dr. Shimokaji as a person, as well… as a Physician. I am writing this testimony unsolicited, because Dr. Shimokaji recently called me herself to remind me that an eye exam should be scheduled soon. This was not done by one of her staff. Dr. Shimokaji, who became my regular eye doctor seven years ago, continues to provide excellent care, esp. important since I am 80+. This included cataract surgery and a lens replacement that now allows me to drive and read without glasses. If you are seeking a new doctor, I can unreservedly recommend her.

Background I was severely near sighted since 5 years old and also had an astigmatism in both eyes. My school years were a minor battle with sports that required good eye sight and good hand eye coordination. I was fortunate, however, and escaped the wrath of my fellow students who never failed to point out my eyesight deficiencies. I escaped because I had four brothers and was reasonable size and could out run most of my class mates. Dr. Shimokaji. Dr Shimokaji is the ultimate professional expert with excellent bedside manner. She strikes an impressive image in the hospital on the day of the where she is in total command of all aspects of the operation. After the operation the patient comes to realize that the image is backed up with success. I was referred to Dr Shimokaji who, to shorten a long story, performed cataract surgery on both eyes inserting a Monofocal Lens in both eyes and by her own hand corrected the astigmatisms. I no longer need any corrective lenses and may not even… need reading glasses.

I had cataract surgery with Dr Shimokaji and saw 20/20 the next day! It's a miracle and I trust her and the staff--Dr Shimokaji and Dr Shapiro are superb physicians!!!

You will not get better care for your eye related problems than from Dr. Shimakoji and her excellent staff.
