Dr. Geeta Bhandari Bisht, MD

If I could rate this practice lower than 1 star I would. This is the most unprofessional office I have ever encountered and the lack of professionalism is astounding and it is affecting my son getting the help he needs due to an incorrect diagnosis given to me on the paperwork and Dr. Bisht refuses to fix or even contact me about. In our initial meeting we spoke about the diagnosis and were in agreement but the paperwork says something entirely different. This is unacceptable and the front desk assistant is completely rude and the one therapist we saw was terrible as well. DO NOT GO THERE!

I had seen Dr. Bisht for almost a year and I didn't really like the experience from the start and I just should have found someone else then but I chose to give them a chance. I saw a therapist there first and they kept asking me questions that made me uncomfortable even when I told them I did not want to talk about certain serious subjects. I asked questions about my medications and would only get really vague answers even when I asked several times. I never felt cared for when I went there. I wanted to get off of a certain medication because I was getting bad side effects from it and I basically had to argue with the doctor about it.

She is never on time, and it's not because of other patients. I finally tried scheduling her first appt. of the day to avoid being after other patients, and she didn't even get to the office until at least 90 min. after my appt. time. I had to keep calling my boss and apologizing because I was so late getting back to work. She asked if I was planning to have children EVERY visit, after telling her repeatedly that I was UNABLE and how painful that was to me. She overmedicates, and FIGHTS to keep you medicated even when your symptoms are better controlled after therapy. I finally found another doctor, and he promptly took me off everything she prescribed except for the sleep aid. If you're currently seeing her, please don't let this experience discourage you from finding help - there are far better doctors out there!

Was a little unsure at first, but since we've got to know Dr. Bisht over a few appointments we've found her and her staff to be very caring and helpful. My daughter is doing much better!

She is concerned and spends the time necessary with the patient to be thorough in her exam. Listens to feedback from the family.

She does not know who you are or why you are there but she will toss the latest meds at you, maybe a whole cocktail. Agree with everything she says or you will get vindictive 72 hour commitment or just tossed from the practice.

Dr. Bisht have from day 1 appeared to be very incompetent. She has continued to prescribe a medication that has never worked for my child. She then increased the dosage, which still didn't work but my child began to drool. She still wouldn't change the med, but prescribed a med for the side effect, drooling. I don't have a Phd., but I know that it doesn't make sense to prescribe a med for a side effect for a med that didn't work. When we did finally get her to change him meds, she changed it to another ineffective medication. Then the next month, she prescribed the first ineffective med again. Now she has prescribed a med that has him twitching, nervous, fidgety, with no appetite and he just whines. He's been this way every since he's taken the new med. Once while in her office, my son was behaving as we've always reported to him, she rolled up a magazine as if she was going to hit him with it. I looked at her and thought, if she hit him, I'm going to wear her head out. But… she came to herself and that's when she finally changed his med to the second ineffective med. She's always run late for her appointments and rushes you when your in her office. She has diagnosed my son, without sending him for any tests even after we have repeatedly requested the testing. Overall, I believe that she's very incompetent and should retire. She may have been a good doctor in her hay day, but not now. I will definitely not recommend her to my worst enemy.

I have been a patient of Dr. Bisht since 1993 she is absolutely the best in her field. I have had to see other psychiatrist from time to time but I have always returned to her. My condition is not something that can be cured, it is something that just has to be treated. She does so with compassion and kindness. If you have to wait in her office it is because she is taking a few extra minutes for a patient who really needs her help. Sometimes its you, sometime its not. Sometimes your in and out, sometimes you have a 45 minute wait. But the fact is when you are dealing with mental health issues you want someone working with you who is not just giving you or your child a pill to cover symptoms but looking for underlying causes. That doesn't always happen in a 15 minute window. I appreciate someone who is actually thinking of my well being and not just sedating me or my child until the next appointment. It is easy to get in if you are flexible, if not it can be a little wait, a lot of… other people see the value in her. I've had ups and downs in my experiences with everyone else in the office honestly over time. Seen some people come and go, but over all To work with Dr. Bisht there is no one I would say anything negative about. People are people, If you call, things get done quickly, They will get your med's filled fast, insurance claims handled quickly. There is even a newer scheduling checkout desk that seems to work out really nice. The waiting room is also very comfortable. The only thing I didn't really touch on that I can think of is counseling, They do offer therapy but I've only had a brief experience with one of the current counselors. I will say it was positive also.

I went to Dr. Bisht after experiencing anxiety/panic attacks. Not only did Dr. Bisht prescribe me an "atypical anti psychotic" for my anxiety, when I called her office to tell them I was not comfortable with this medication(because it made my chest hurt) they never returned my call. When I went to my follow up appt and told her I did not want to take it, she tried to get me to take an antidepressant. I told her I was not comfortable with that(because I am not depressed) and I just needed help getting my anxiety under control. She said, "What do you know!?! you are just a nursing student, maybe I can't help you!" She was rude, pushy, and has completely turned me off of getting help. I hope someone can read this and avoid the frustration and wasted effort.

I recently just started seeing Dr. Bisht, M.D. for psychiatric care. I had a wonderful experience. The wait was approx 30 mins but well worth it. Dr. Bisht spends a good amount of time with patients, this is more then likely why there is a little wait to see her. She is caring understanding, down to earth and best of all she listens to you. I got a very good assessment, I went through a million questions and at the end we talked for a while and she took all the information and made a proper diagnosis. She prescribed me one medication, since being under her care my ADD symptoms have gone away. 10 STARS FOR DR. BISHT, myself being a Student Physician Assistant seen superior care from her along with very friendly office staff. I would recommend Dr. Bisht to anyone needing wonderful medical care in the psychiatric specialty.
