Dr. Geoffrey Guy Emerson, MD

Dr Emerson is a very good, caring doctor. The staff is not. Wait times are very long and staff is rude. This is after experiencing several visits of 1 hour plus wait times (one was 3 hours).

I have lived with Type 1 diabetes for 57 years, managing to stay ahead of eye problems for all but the last three years. Suddenly, I could not see. A previous eye surgery needed to have it scar removed. Then my other eye bit the dust. I went immediately to Dr. Emerson. A few months later, things went awry. I walked over to his office without an appointment and said, "Help." He saw me immediately, and scheduled surgery for the next morning. It has been a long, and ever so slow healing since then--but he has been on my side every step of the way. I am grateful for his expertise, and his honesty. "I'm sorry I could not fully prepare you for what a difficult surgery it was because the full nature of what happened didn't show itself until the operation. This is, to me, the mark of a caring doctor who works with something as incredibly important as the gift of vision--however fleeting it may be. I feel the same way about the office staff. When I asked for help, they helped. I… hope I will see again, but I know that everything that could be done has been done.
