Dr. George Anthony Alsina, MD

Dr Alsina is a phenomenal surgeon...one of the finest I have ever met and I am a medical professional myself. After 7 hours of surgery to repair my 91 year old father's fractured neck and reduce his extreme pain .....my father had no pain and walked out of the Neuro clinic with improved quality of life. We are forever grateful for his expertise...compassion...instruction. I highly recommend Dr Alsina and his staff ...they are role models for all medical professionals.

In 2009 I was taken to the ER with severe pain in my chest and back. It was discovered that I had an MRSA abscess the size of a football attached to my spinal cord. I was immediately taken to surgery and Dr. Alsina spent the next 7.5 hours removing the abscess. If this abscess had burst I probably would not have recovered. I spent 4 months recovering and had no problems since. He is an amazing surgeon and a wonderful man.

his comments to our family and care to my father was unacceptable. Run , do not use this physician, his incompetence as a surgeon , tells an older patient to wait 1 month before seeing him after surgery. We called many times, my dad was in severe pain and they could not see him. I have learned a lot, wish I was more outspoken. Please be a voice for your older parents, this doctor and his staff do not care at all.

This Dr. needs to look into the proper way to set screws with cement in spinal surgery for elderly patients.

Find another doctor. If you don't have a payment on time you will be turned away at the front office window. Very poor service. Showed up on time and had to wait for 1 hour or more. His staff is very arrogant and self absorbed.

After many years of suffering with my back problems and seeing pain specialists, I was recommended to Dr. Alsina. He has performed a back fusion and neck fusion. Since then, I am 85% pain free. If you have any doubts about him, please re-think as this man has saved me from many, many years of suffering. I would highly recommend him.

Dr. Alsina is an excellent neurosurgeon, there are several surgeons in the area that treat you like a number or the amount of the bill. They do the surgery on you tell you nothing and let you figure the rest out yourself. Dr Alsina takes the time to explain what is wrong and what needs to be done. He gives you the option of him or someone else, he never pushes you to have a surgery. He has done surgery on me and I have no complaints. He has a very pleasant bedside manner. He has even called me at home to find out how I was doing. How many other physicians of any kind will do that? None that I know of except him. To me that is the sign of a very caring and compassionate physician. If I need him again I will use him.

Dr. Alsina performed surgery on my husband after my husband suffered an accute stroke at the age of 34. Dr. Alsina explained the procedure to me as well as the benifits and risks. My husbands surgery took about eight hours and he survived. Dr. Alsina is a wonderful surgeon and I would HIGHLY recomend him to anyone looking for a neurosurgeon. Myself, my husband and my children will be eternally greatful to Dr. Alsina for saving my husbands life!!

First of all, I am a scrub nurse and worked in the operating room for at least nine years and specialized in Neurosurgery. I met Dr. Alsina by referral from friends after being robbed and assaulted severely and left for dead. I had previous neurosurgeries to repair the damages done due to the assault by another neurosurgeon.The surgeries did not turn out successful and caused even more severe pain and depression. I took all of my records and radioloy studies to Dr.Alsina. He studied every single radiology report and reviewed each picture. Dr. Alsina had me look at each and every problem area and then told me what he suggested should be done.Dr. Alsina had to take out a lot of hardware from my cervical and lumbar area before he did corrections and placed new and different hardware in the place of the old. I could sit here and type for hours about the miracles the that man has done for me. I know I will never be the same as I was before the assault but I am confident that Dr. Alsina is… the most talented and blessed Neurosurgeon in the world. He is compassionate and truly cares about his patients. I know some sugeons treat you like another number. This is not going to happen with Dr. Alsina and his staff.I thank God every single day for letting him use his gifts to care for me.There are not enough stars here for him. He is a gift sent from above.God Loves him and is so proud of his duties! I love him so very much for giving me a chance at life.I would not have had that chance with another surgeon!
