Dr. George Benson Branning, MD

I was looking for a doctor to take care of my gynecological needs. It is hard to find a practice which services women who no longer have babies. For context, I do not need to have a warm and fuzzy experience to partner with a doctor. I do not need VIP treatment from staff. I do need to verify that the Doctor has the knowledge and skills to help me with any medical issues and that the staff is competent; that’s all. That being said, I was impressed with Texas Gynecology and plan to stay with this practice and Dr. Branning. Dr. Branning took time to speak to me and did not pressure me to seek any extra services, tests or medication. He spoke to me before my exam and after. The phlebotomist was excellent at taking blood. The staff had already confirmed my insurance and follow-up visit…so I’m checking all the boxes on this office. Prior to my visit, I did read as many reviews as I could find on the practice and Dr. Branning. My system for processing reviews is to look at the worst… ones first and determine if the person was offended and/or inconvenienced or actually harmed, mislead or misdiagnosed. In processing reviews with 3 to 5 stars, I look for “patterns”. Again, for context, I am not the type of person that would sever a long term doctor-patient relationship because the office had a bad day. Therefore, I can confidently testify that there really is a definitive “pattern” of care at Texas Gynecology. Dr. Branning is personable, knowledgeable, professional and patient and his staff follows his lead…which I find refreshing and I think you will too. I recommend Texas Gynecology and Dr. Branning.

TWO STAFF MEMBERS were NOT WEARING MASKS while I was enclosed with them in a very small waiting room for my medically necessary appointment. I am high risk and take an immunosuppressant medication. The receptionist initially came out from the back with her gaiter pulled up, but then after telling me I was all checked in, she proceeded to take her buff down and go about her work. I watched her for over a minute wondering at what I was seeing and what I should do about it. I even nervously watched as she blew air out through her pursed lips in a great big sigh. I asked her if she had Covid yet to give her the benefit of the doubt, to maybe think that she had surmised that she might not be able to spread it to me or something. She said, “No, Have you?” I replied that I had not and that I was leaving because I had just witnessed two staff members not wearing masks in my presence and that it made me very uncomfortable. (During my wait another woman had also come to the front desk to… get some gum. She did not have a mask on either, but I thought perhaps that was because maybe she dashed out quickly from a lunch break or something.) I was shocked and angry that the staff did not have the common courtesy to try to keep me safe. The office manager called me to say that they were “Sorry that they made me uncomfortable” and that their policy was to only wear a mask if they were within 6 feet of me. She said that patients who call on the phone can’t hear the receptionist if she is wearing a mask. The receptionist was not on the phone with anyone at all during this time, nor is this a valid excuse for not wearing a covering when in a small enclosed area with patients. It’s unfortunate because I did think that Dr. Branning was a nice man, but if you can’t count on a medical office to do the right thing during a pandemic, then this is not the place I trust to provide my care. I’m VERY ANGRY AND DISAPPOINTED. I never thought I’d have to call ahead of time to a Doctor’s office to ask if they’d be wearing masks. INEXCUSABLE! And the apology should not have been “Sorry we made you uncomfortable (as if my discomfort was somehow an overreaction) ” … it should have been, “I’m sorry we didn’t have our masks on and there is absolutely no excuse for that.”

After a 13 year run as a patient of Dr. Branning I'm disappointed in how little he actually values me as a patient. I purchased the "O shot" and was told it had several benefits and they've never had anybody not get results. I am apparently the ONLY one that has ever not had any results. 0 RESULTS - NOTHING and am out $1400.00. The option for resolution I was given was to purchase a much more expensive solution. I was told afterwards that the O shot was meant to be an add-on to the Diva shot to make it more effective. Since no longer delivering babies he is now trying to supplement his income by preying on the "post baby" group and now is a used car salesman. He also tried to put me on hormone therapy which I am way too young for. My regular doctor told me I did not need that and he was just trying to make a buck. I will not be returning to Dr. Branning. Get ready to get a sales pitch if you go in there.

I saw Dr. Branning yesterday and he's very nice and down to earth and knows what he's doing. IF you ever call this office make an appointment with Dr. Branning. I highly recommend Dr. Branning, he is VERY PROFESSIONAL and a great doctor,he listens to the patient and takes care of her with great attention.

I'm an RN and I think my standards and expectations for medical care are relatively high. From the time I made my appointment to my first visit today, I was impressed w/ the ease, competence and friendliness of all concerned. It's not that I'm looking for a "new best friend" but I do want to feel confident in the health care I'm getting. The gals at the office were wonderful to work with. Dr. Branning was thorough and I never felt rushed. He addressed all my questions and was very insightful . I HIGHLY recommend this medical practice.

Dr. Branning's promptness is not perfect for the sole reason of spending time with his patients. I can't begrudge him because I want Dr. Branning to take time with me.

He was recommended by someone who has gone to him for over 15 years. I moved from Tokyo and went for a routine visit and he was very thorough and nice but my OB/GYN in California had an amazing friendly staff that always follow-up, so I am a bit spoiled.

I love Dr. Branning & his staff! They are all very kind, have great bedside manners, & very accommodating.

By far the worse experience in my 33 years of existence. He has no bedside manners, does not take the time to listen, if you don't ask, you pretty much don't get anything. The wait time is unbelievable, 50minute to an hour. He never apologize and acts like no big deal. He thinks more highly of himself than he ought. I actually made a list of all my appointments and wait time. My biggest regret is that I didn't leave sooner. I cannot believe he came highly recommended by an associate. Melissa the office rep is very abrupt and rude. I suppose that attitude trickles down from the top. In this day and age where patients have options it is simply not just ok to be competent, that comes a dime a dozen and especially coming from a doctor they should have the complete package, competence and compassion

Dr. Branning delivered my first baby and he was wonderful. I am now pregnant with my second baby and Dr. Branning has been great through the whole pregnancy. I couldn't ask for a better doctor and I think he has a great bed side manner.
