Dr. George Albert Fisher

George Fisher should not be in the medical field because he does not qualify at all with his cruel heart and worst attitude.

George Fisher should not be in the medical field and he should go to the prison for the rest of his life due to his bad words and worst bedside manner.

Dr. Fisher could use a much better bedside manner; I felt no encouragement from him even with the positive things our family was trying to do for our loved one. The prognosis may be bad, but kindness and some compassion in handling the family goes a long way. In my opinion Dr. Fisher needs to think more about this in dealing with his patients & their families.

We went to Stanford for a second opinion. Dr. Fisher gave my wife, who has stage 3 colon cancer, no positive news for managing her cancer. He smiled the whole time while giving us a very negative prognosis. We went in hoping for more treatment options but left with none and a very bleak future.

As a cancer patient, you would think that the doctor would care and put his utmost care for someone so sick. Unfortunately, this doctor is so full of himself and only pretends to care about my well-being. Had such a bad and difficult time with this doctor who gives no hope. What is the point of being a cancer doctor?! Jimmy Carter is now cancer-free. If you don't try, you will never know. We are not statistics but human beings. Leaving to get care elsewhere is the best move I've made with regards to this doctor. As a patient, please read up on your own about new possibilities because this doctor will not tell you anything and dismiss such questions.

At a moment when I feel so helpless already, this doctor does not care for my wish to try to fight. I am truly appalled by his lack of compassion and willingness for patient's rights. I am frightened of my future but will now seek help elsewhere.

Please be aware that Stanford is a teaching hospital so even though you have a severe illness, either an intern or residence will be doing the check-up and Dr. Fisher just follows up afterwards. In my experience, these interns/residence lack enough experience and are just ok and there's no consistency in assessment since you usually see a different one each time. Dr. Fisher's head nurse, Roxanne, is not that friendly either. In fact, she is pretty mean and cold. Wait time is terrible too. About 40 minutes of waiting with discomfort AFTER being called into the exam room. Dr. Fisher keeps getting the relationship of my family members who accompany me wrong which shows a lack of attention. I'm going to try MD Anderson instead because I cannot take a chance when I have such a severe cancer to have ppl like this be the ones to help me fight. I just cannot believe this is supposed to be considered good standard of care.

I could not ask for a better doctor. He is smart and compassionate and takes the time to explain things clearly. He is an expert on NETS and is involved in the latest research. He has moved up appointments and scans and made himself available any time I needed help. He helped me get the surgery I needed when I could only get palliative care in my home state. I feel very lucky to have him as my doctor.

Is it part of a doctor's job to say just let your loved one die when they are trying their best to fight? My loved one was still able to enjoy life, but that's exactly what Dr. Fisher said to me.

I believe Steve Jobs' greatest regret was his treatment of his terrible disease and that includes this doctor. He's generally a nice person but he is more worried about himself rather than the patient. When asked about what Dr. Soon-Shiong, maker of Abraxene, suggested for dosing of Abraxene and how it wa opposite of what Dr. Fisher was prescribing for treatment, he just laughed and ignored the conversation. That should have been the sign to leave but we thought Stanford had world-class facilities. That was our biggest mistake and also one that we regret. Please learn from our loss.
