Dr. George Li Shong Hoe, MD

If I could give a lower rating than a one-star, I would. On my last visit, I told him I had pain in my shoulder. Later on an MRI, I found out I had torn one of the muscles that makes up the rotator cuff. Dr Hoe said, without an MRI or an x-ray, that he wasn't going to give me any pain medicine. He prescribed a muscle relaxer that too was puzzling to me. I wondered why he would say that without even an X-ray or MRI. I was in agony and he had decided that I am a "Drug abuser" and was looking to get some opioid pain pills. On an earlier visit, I made the mistake of telling Dr Hoe that I had taken one (only one) of my wife's nerve pain pills because of the stinging pains in my legs. I had also said to him that I had smoked cannabis when I was younger. Then when I looked up my medical records I saw that he had written patient is a "Drug abuser" on five different occasions. He had also written that I was "Cannabis dependent". This man shouldn't have a… license. He labeled me as a drug abuser and that I was cannabis dependent even though I hadn't smoked weed in years. His ego prevented me from receiving the proper diagnosis and labeled me as a "junky" for all future treatments at any VA or private practice. I know this because six months later I had a fall tearing the left shoulder rotator cuff. On my visit to the emergency care, the attendants told me they couldn't give me anything for pain. Rotator cuff tears are very painful. Many years ago I had kidney stones and they say that kidney stone pain is worse than a woman giving birth. I can attest to that. I was given morphine for my kidney stones and it barely took the pain away, but honestly, the pain of the rotator cuff tears is even more painful. I've had to suffer for over a year with no relief because this Doctor's ego prevented anyone from giving me the proper treatment. Don't go to this guy if you can help it. His ego will prevent you from receiving the right treatment.
