Dr. George William Poutous, MD

It's time for him to retire. He runs hour behind and the staff tells you he is slow but very sweet. I feel that is rude and totally wrong no respect for your time. If there is an emergency that's one thing however, to be the only doctor in the practice to run that far behind tells me it's time to retire. He also has a narcissist personality and I find him a bit rude and smells like garlic. I will never go to that location again. It's time to go Dr. POOUTOUS

My experience with Dr. Poutous and the practice (Monroeville East) has been horrible. This practice operates in an unethical and unsympathetic manner. Dr. Poutous in particular was awful. Thankfully he did not deliver my baby (based on the other reviews) but I had to unfortunately see him postpartum. To start, my appointment was at 1:45pm...he didn't show until 2:45. While I understand doctors get held up, an hour late is ridiculous. I would have appreciated him acknowledging how late he was or an apology, but I did not get that. In addition, he had no idea why I was visiting him (he couldn't work the computer to see my file). I told him I was there for postpartum preeclampsia and that I was having major anxiety revolving around this condition. I mention to him that my anxiety was pretty bad, but that I knew that anxiety can be normal after a more complicated labor and he responded in a rude manner "well you're the first person I've seen with postpartum anxiety." He made me feel… embarrassed about my anxiety. This practice doesn't care about you after labor. Dr. Poutous was rude and didn't seem to know much about the postpartum period for women. There are so many great OBGYN practices...don't choose this one!

Dr. Poutous was awful to have for the delivery of my baby. It was a horrible experience and my baby is lucky to be alive. Please don’t let this doctor deliver your baby,

Dr Potous was my gyn for 8 years while I lived in Monroeville. He was always calming, reassuring and caring. When it came to any issues I had, he explained options available to me. I had an ablasion based on his recommendation and it was the BEST thing I have ever done. Thank you Dr Potous for the way you practice medicine and in making me feel understood and taken care of.

My experience with Dr. Poutous was horrific. After being induced for 4 days he finally delivered my son. He put me and my son at risk. My son was put through so much distress he almost died during delivery. I was high risk and Dr. Poutous refused a c section for days. I never dilated more than 1 cm. He was rude and disrespectful. It is a shame that this man is still allowed to deliver babies. Please do not use this physician...that is why I am writing this review. I want to warn other women.

I had a very bad experience with Dr. Poutous during labor and delivery . He shared call with the group I was seeing and after a long night of labor, he was the one to deliver my 3rd child . The nurses in L&D were wonderful and he literally came in to catch the baby. He quickly delivered the baby and right after , the placenta. He left the room immediately at which point I started to hemorrhage. Luckily the nurses were wonderful . I believe that due to him rushing my 3rd stage of labor , I bled so much . Perhaps that is speculation but even so, he left so quickly and without making sure I was stable, never to return and check in again. HORRIBLE, IMPERSONAL.

I had a horrific experience while in labor under the care of Dr. George Potous. His bedside manner was awful and he didn't explain anything. He put myself and my baby at risk by refusing a c-section. My baby ended up in the NICU with an infection and almost died. I will never use Magee for care again. This doctor is by far the worst physician I have ever had care under.

He left me in labor for over 2 days causing my daughter to aspirate meconium(which was never addressed correctly once she was born) and then since my water was broken for over 48 HOURS, he never administered me or my daughter antibiotics. My daughter was born with an Ecoli infection from the delayed birth and no amniotic fluid. Him and other staff didn't address that either even with high fever and she was beet red. He refused c-section over and over which would have prevented this all. My daughter was put on life support and died 10 days later.

I want to make other females aware of the treatment or shall I say lack of treatment and neglect from Dr. Poutous. He had HORRIBLE bed side manner and was so disrespectful as she was going through labor for multiple days under his care. My friend begged for a c-section as she was worried because her water broke and that is how she ended up at the hospital. Her water was broken for a little of 2 days and she was scared for her baby to possibly get an infection. Also, her baby pooped inside of her womb and sat in it without the amniotic fluid for an extended period of time. The reason I am writing this is I am hurting for my best friend. Due to everything her and her baby endured her baby passed away of a fatal infection that could have been prevented if treated and wasn't due to the neglect from the doctor.

I have been a patient for over 30 years Dr. Poutous and his staff have provided me with excellent care and now provide my daughters with the same outstanding services.
