Dr. George Jeffrey Raukar, MD

After a failed attempt to repair my fractured femur, Dr. Raukar performed a revision surgery. Very shortly after the second surgery, he discharged me, telling me the bone was healing well. I ended up at Brigham and Women’s two years later, still in pain and unable to walk. That second surgery, in truth ,left me with a non union and unhealed bone that only now, over two years later ,has finally healed after turning the case over to a specialist in non unions. I am just now learning to walk again, and it is a painful, frustrating experience.

I was very disappointed with this Dr and he immediately made me feel like I was wasting his time. He had his hand litterally on the door as I was asking him what I should and shouldnt do until next appt. I am not going back, I will have my primary refer another Dr that will take time to explain things and not just shrug his shoulders and say I dont know. Its was so uncomfortable, his mind was clearly on somthing else. His Nurse was amazing and she ended up giving me suggestions that were extremely helpful.

I was sent to Dr. Raukar by my Dr. for knee pain. I had read that he rushed you out and had a bad bed side manner...How wrong; he so kind,took his time answered all my questions. He explained what he was going to do how it would feel and what to expect after. Courteous, kind, accurate, and pretty blue eyes....Couldn't ask for more

Did an excellent job with surgery on my knee

I was refered to him from a local specialist. I paid my $25 copay, and was told to change. He was in the room for less than 10 minutes, he didn't examine me at all instead told me he is refering me off to someone else. Huge waste of time and money!

No bedside manner or personality at all and very quick to run off before you can ask questions

This doctor was able to diagnose my problem when everyone else just looked at me. I went to the Brigham, to Mass General, to every other big name place and then a friend referred me to him. Even though he is in a small town, he is from the Mayo Clinic. If you have a problem, don't bother going to Boston. They are just going to run tests and tests but not give you any answers. See this kind, mild mannered man.
