Dr. George A Schabes

My mother had work done in Brooklyn by Dr Schabes- He was very rude to her- She questioned whether she wanted to do all the work he suggested and he berated my mother telling her it was ridiculous to think she would keep and infected tooth in her mouth. If we wanted to keep it in then he would- but it was ridiculous. He showed no patience, compassion or empathy during this time. My mother who was over whelmed and nervous was being bullied by Dr. Schabes and when I tried to discuss it with her so we could make a decision together he told me to leave the room and wait in waiting room. I saw my mother was getting visibly upset so I told him I need a minute to discuss this with her. I am sure Dr. Schabes was right, this tooth did need to be pulled but the way he handled this was unprofessional, patronizing, condescending, and nasty. If Dr. Schabes is old and cranky he should maybe consider retiring if he cannot treat his patients the respect they deserve. To be honest, I have never… met a doctor who has had such a bad attitude ever. My mother did have a complication from his procedure and had to return the next day due to excessive bleeding. My mother is an older women who is currently is undergoing chemotherapy for cancer - so this guy bullied a cancer patient- real class. - stay away from him if you have any opinions other than his.

A great surgeon. Had a lot of dental work done and I couldn't have been in more capable hands. Very professional. Tells you exactly what you must know. Answers any concerns you have. Office staff is awesome. The nurses make you feel very comfortable before your procedure. I would recommend Dr. Schabes to anyone.
