Dr. George E Silver, MD

Dr Silver has always displayed top notch bedside manner, the best that I have experienced with any doctor. Has always taken a conservative thoughtful approach which each of my three knee surgeries that he has done. Always explained the pros and cons of each procedure to achieve excellent outcomes.

We were referred by our pediatrician when the “sprain” was something more. We became unlucky when Dr Silver was available to see my daughter. Never seemed terribly concerned that she went through a cast, treatments, surgery, a brace, and physical therapy with little improvement. Didn’t seem concerned about the teasing she received from kids at middle school, nor the fact that she was unable to play her sport or her musical instrument. Then after 9 months she was dismissed from care when nothing more could be done, adding a snarky remark that “At least the elbow isn’t frozen at full extension. She can still eat and brush her own hair.” Yes, that is a perfectly uplifting and positive remark to a young girl whose life changed and who to this day had a crooked arm that will never straighten.

I went to see George regarding my shoulder. He told me he could not help me. After a second opinion Ortho Albany was able to surgically fix the problem.

He may be the best surgeon in the world. In my case that remains to be seen. However, the post op care has been the worst. It seems as if he is unwilling to even put any thought into why the healing is not progressing as expected.

Dr. Silver was easy to talk to and explained things well.

Great surgeon. Replaced both my knees, the first being in 2009 and the second in 2010. I have not had any issue wiht them at all. I do a lot of walking, use my stationary bike daily, and my husband are members of the YMCA in Saratoga,where we workout in the gym and walk the track. He is truly the very best!!!

The phone call from his office with the results of my MRI was most unsettling and the person calling me was unable to answer many of my questions.
