Dr. George A Sisson JR., MD

This man is senile. Do NOT use him as a surgeon. He will make your body worse. When I asked him the worst side effects from a bunionectomy he said, "You can lose your foot." He has no desire to help patients and does not have all his faculties. He will harm your body. He did not think it was necessary to tell me that I have arthritis after looking at my x-rays and that it wasn't important for me to know that if he performs the surgery it will "activate" the arthritis and therefore not allowing my joint to move. He did not ask me if I were active, if I wore high heels or how I would feel about losing flexibilty in my big toe. WhaSomething is really wrong with this man and the hospital should not let him work there anymore. What he should have done is just shaved down the bunion and left the arthritic big toe alone, therefore allowing me to still have my flexibility. I am a breast cancer survivor and I also have lupus. Exercise is the most important aspect of my life in order to keep… myself healthy. Unfortunately the surgery that Dr. Sisson performed has left my foot so fragile that I've had three stress fractures due to no flexibility because I am trying to keep up with the required exercise to keep cancer and lupus at bay. This place is a circus. It's a disgrace.

Saw Sisson because of an old ankle injury. He operated, and now, more than a year later, I'm in MUCH more pain than before the operation. He seemed 'slapdash', and even though I had had an MRI before seeing him, he ignored it and relied on an X-ray taken by his office. I wish I had never seen him, and certainly wish I had never trusted him to operate on me. Too bad I can't go back in time.

Dr. Sisson is a caring, skilled physician who provided good care to me. He is professional, yet caring and took time to explain everything to me. He even came back in the room when I had further questions.

I was looking forward to my appointment with Dr. Sisson because of all the glowing reviews. However, my experience was awful. In short, after waiting for 30-45 minutes, he came in, looked at my leg/ankle and informed me that he had no idea what was wrong. That's fine -- doctors can't be expected to know everything. But then, he suggested that I was "making up" the pain to "avoid gym class" and suggested I come back in a month if things had not improved. For what? That visit was a huge waste of time and money, and I did not appreciate it.

I'm not sure who the other reviewers are talking about because I did not meet a compaasionate doctor. Dr. Sisson's was uncaring, condescending to me and lacked plain ole common courtesy. When he came into the room he never sat down rudely asked me what was I expecting him to do said something about I as having back problems and that wasn't his area, told me to learn to live with it and then gave me some paperwork. I left this appointment in tears and he or the other doctor that came in with him didn't seem to care. I would never recommend anyone go see this doctor if you don't have big name medical insurance.

Dr. Sisson performed surgery on both of my legs. The surgery was very successful and I have been happy wtih the outcome even six years later. He is personable during office visits and is was clear and thorough when explaning the problems, possiblities and what to expect afterward. My surgery with him was the first surgery I ever had. Dr. Sisson was caring and had a great sense of humor which made the process so much easier. His assisting nurse was incredible and made scheduling easy, she covered all of what I'd need to know and do before the surgery and after the surgery. It was very simple and stress free.
