Dr. Montouris was recommended to me by one of my favorite docs at New England Baptist Hospital. She specializes in seizure control and I've been with her for 4 months now. She is slowly changing/trying a different seizure med than my previous neurologist (who was NOT at all imaginative or adventourous when it came to trying new meds with FEWER size effects). I complained about weight gain and hair loss with my old neurologist and her attitude was kind of "so what". While Dr. Montouris says these two issues are super important for self esteem, etc. She is such a knowlegeable doc when it comes to medications for seizures and also VERY PERSONABLE. She is well worth the 100 mile trip to Boston and back. She also wants to hear from you about EACH seizure to evaluate seriousness, whether meds are working, etc She calls you back promtly!!. That's a doctor who cares.

Dr. Montouris was a great assistance to me the entire time that I was under her care. I was one of those patients that was almost impossible to control. But Dr. Montouris never gave up on me. Again and again, when one treatment didn't work, or ceased to help, she would find another one to see if it would solve the problem. I would encourage anyone to use her as your neurologist - not only does she prescribe medications, but unlike so many of today's physicians, she will actually take the time to listen to you.

Dr. Montouris is the most caring doctor you could ask for. Extremely knowledgeable and determined to help you or your child. She was the only doctor who was able to get my daughter's seizures under control and on only one medication versus the 3 (over 3,000 mg) of meds other doctors had her on and they were not controlling her seizures. I consider her a Godsend!
