Dr. Gerald Edward Rodts, MD

Warning: Dr. Rodts is a good doctor. My warning is to think twice before you have surgery. Back surgery is a major, major operation. The recovery is long and painful. And after all that it is a statistical fact that only 50% have any improvement at all. I had no improvement ! You may want to look for other alternatives.

If I could leave 0 stars I would ! My daughterhas been suffering with Bertolotti syndrome for over 2 years, my wife brought all MRI & CT scans to the office with her &he did not even look at those! Spent about 15 minutes with her & basically said there was nothing he could do for her. my wife was FURIOUS ! If he is the top spine Doctor in this area , he failed to prove it to us! We will NEVER see him again or recommend his services!

I have been to lDr. Rodts several times and like him, his communication skills and knowledge. That’s where it stops. His team - one in particular - were rude, dismissive, inept and had no follow-through. I left several messages for Dr. Rodts to contact me regarding my upcoming appt. and all the problems his staff member caused, but I’m assuming all were intercepted, since I’ve heard nothing. If the staff member had done his job, returned my many calls to him and not been highly disrespectful, I would have giver Dr. Rodts five stars.

Cervical Disk 2 and 3 are damaged and causes me screaming pain. C 4 thru 6 has a cage unit. He commented my neck looked great. I am bedridden in pain with blood pressure staying high. He only takes good insurance. I was sent to do horrible shots by him. I just needed the 2 disk fused. I live in bed now. Thank you Dr. Rodts

Dr. Rodts did a Fusion on my L5 and S1 back in 2004. He is an excellent surgeon and a wonderful person. He is very intelligent, a great surgeon, great bedside manners and spends the needed time with you to help you understand your problem, and then fixes it. I am having some additional issues and hopefully I will be able to see Dr. Rodts in the near future. Love this man!!

I live and walk this earth because of this man. He has performed 5 spinal surgeries and I owe this man my life.

Great Dr! He explains everything in a language I can understand and he is always friendly and kind. I have had two back surgeries and a spinal stimulator implanted and he is absolutely the best! Wouldn't trust anyone else to cut on me!

Best Doc in the world

I underwent a major reconstruction of entire lumbar region. This happened at Crawford Long Emory in Atl. The procedure headed by Dr. Rodts along with 5 others Dr. lasted 17.5 hrs. This review has nothing to do with the quality of his work , but his after care. I really don't think any Dr. could of done any better! My warning to future patients is his aftercare. I was experiencing uncontrollable pain in my right leg that I had never experienced before. It completely overshadowed the back pain I was suffering which was almost unbearable but somewhat controlled by medication. The pain in my right leg was not! When I would bring this up to Dr. Rodts ,he treated me as a drug seeker even though I explained meds didn't help this pain. It felt like my leg was on fire 24/7 where I couldn't even let a sheet touch it. I've suffered the worst pain any body could suffer ,starting with hitting a tree a 70 mph and crushing my L-3. Finally after being put off by Dr. Rodts for five months, he gave me… and found a bone spur pressing against a nerve and did a 2-3 hour operation, when I awoke the pain was gone. so, after I conclude was GITMO type waterboarding , I never saw dr. rodts again. My opinion is, if you can find another Dr. as good as Dr. Rodts, who will actually care about your feelings, instead of a GOD COMPLEX being fulfilled, use them, you'll have nothing to loss but unnessary post-op pain!
