Dr. Douglas Stofko, DO

I would strongly recommend Dr Stofko to anyone with back pain. I had been seeing a chiropractor for a few months for what I thought was siatic nerve. I had no pain just numbness in my right foot. Then my pain went from 0 to 100 just like that. My wife took me to the ER and that is when I saw Dr Stofko. He explained to me and my family what it was and surgery was my only option. He said I was on the verge of losing use of my right leg because of the nerve damage. He done the surgery and I was walking that evening and have had no pain at all since. This all happened on May 8 2018.

I have had my first appointment with Dr. Stofko and he was up front and honest with my options regarding the need for surgery. I respect that he took the time to explain everything to me in detail and has encouraged me to speak to my family and make a decision. In my opinion, most surgeons are quick to operate and this was not the case. Dr. Stofko was kind, compassionate and understanding. I have decided to move forward with my surgery and I trust Dr. Stofko and his team.

Dr. Stofko and his team's expertise and intense attention to detail saved my husband's life and saved him from permanent brain damage & paralysis on Nov.1,2016 when he had a brain aneurysm rupture followed by a stroke! Had 2 discs taken out of my neck. Great and caring doctor and assistants. They were there all day with me up into the night making sure I was comfortable. Came back the next morning checking on me again. All my problems that had to do with my neck are gone.

I had been to a neuro surgeon previously but I had tried other options prior to surgery. Dr. Stofko was very compassionate and understanding. He actually listened to my wife and me. He reviewed my images and explained what choices that I had for treatment. Dr. Stofko encouraged us to ask any questions I called my daughter during my visit and Dr. Stofko answered her questions. I am happy to say that my surgery was a success and I feel better than ever. My wife and I are going to sign up for dance lessons.

I've been out of work for two years I finally got into see dr.stofco on the 18th of Jan and he proceeded to exsplain exactly what was wrong in deep detail answered every question since I'm not that smart but not only that I'm really happy with the wait I was only in the office for an hour and since I was in soooooo much pain this was a good thing thank god.I know I'm rambling I ALWAYS do he is a great doctor and we as folks in east Tennessee are lucky and blessed to have such a talented surgeon here to help us I'm gonna go do the procedure this wensday and I will write another review then and like he said i should have no problems working afterwards so we will see.also my surgery isn't the biggest of deals but it's being as such and to me that means a crap ton cause anytime someone is cutting on your back it's a HUGE deal

Please take my advice when you have a headache that won't go away seek medical assistance. My wife owes her life to God and Dr. Douglas Stofko. We were transferred from a small hospital near our home to Tennova downtown. Dr. Stofko removed an aneurysm and my wife is alive and able to tell you about it. Although she doesn't remember very much we have filled in the gaps of her timeline. We want everyone to remember Dr. Stofko and how he saved her life.

Our prayers were answered and my father is currently recovering in the neuro icu. Dr Stofko is very kind and compassionate. He is giving excellent care to our entire family. We know we have a lot of barriers to continue to cross. We are blessed to have the expertise of Dr Stofko.

Dr. Stofko is compassionate and I would reccomend him without any reservation. My family is forever thankful to him and his staff.

My husband had a tumor on his pituitary that hemorrhage do, Gr Stafko and his staff took care of him. Everyone from him, to the PA's and nurses were top notch. Words can't explain how wonderful and caring they were at such a critical and scary time fo us. Dr Stafko did an excellent job and always had time fo us, because God knows we were scared and had a lot of questions. He even took the time to talk with our grown children and family members that had come in from out of town.
