Dr. Gerald Edwin Welch II, MD

He said he was going to check the placement of my iud, then maybe remove it, instead he removed a 1000$ procedure without asking me for verification that I wanted it removed

What happened to Dr. Welch? I miss him.

Worst experience EVER in my life @ ANY healthcare provider- do NOT go to Apex Medical- they are horrible!!!!

They gave me a call a month later and said I may have abnormalities in my pap smear. They said it was probably nothing to worry about but also kept urging me to come in again for another pap smear -- I decided to see someone else and was worried/anxious about my results for several weeks. Later, from another OBGYN, I found out my results were perfectly fine.

I did not like this doctor at all. He made me feel very unimportant and rushed. He was very pompous . I would rather find another obgyn even if I have to drive an hour away.

I was recommended by a friend to go see Dr. Welch. Needless to say if you are pregnant and concerned in the least bit about your pregnancy and would like to have a doctor with good beside manner, he is definitely not the doctor for you. Horrible!!

Dr. Welch was personable enough in office visits, but he unnecessarily pushes women toward elective inductions. He does this by leading them to believe it is medically necessary. Both myself and my son suffered complications from being unnecessarily induced. While stitching me up, he took a phone call from his wife. If you'd like labor to start on it's own, avoid this doctor!

Dr. Welch's staff was extremely incompetent and uncaring. Due to an error on their part I was unable to have an appointment with Dr. Welch. My issue is that I was not made aware of this requirement until I arrived for my scheduled appointment. I was told by the office manager that she was "sorry" and the person who took my information was new and did not know to ask me for prior authorization (even though my insurance provider (TRICARE) does not require prior authorization and Dr. Welch's office does. I was made to feel that nothing could be done and it was simply "my problem" if I couldn't get the referral from my primary care manager. This was the worst GYN experience that I have ever had. It's bad enough that birth control is practically held hostage from women requiring us to see a specialist annually to get a prescription, but having to deal with a staff that does not care how much of a inconvenience this is for me is completely unacceptable. I would rather drive 1 hr to a MTF… than to go to this office again!
