Ghazi A Mirrani, MD

I had a very disappointing and frustrating experience with Ghazi Mirrani today. I came into the appointment with a complex cardiac history, including heart failure with reduced EF, POTS, and SVTs, along with multiple hospitalizations and echocardiograms performed at several institutions including Tower Health, Penn medicine and Temple Health. Rather than reviewing my full history, he looked at only one echocardiogram and immediately dismissed the findings as “miscalculated,” stating that every system is different. I explained that I have multiple echos across different health systems have shown consistent results and asked that he review those records, but this was not taken seriously. I was referred to this office by Reading Hospital after a recent admission for chest pain and shortness of breath. When I explained this, he questioned why I was even here today since I already have an electrophysiologist and a heart failure specialist (whom I’m scheduled to see in March). Im still in… extreme pain and was simply following hospital discharge instructions to establish care with a general cardiologist. Throughout the visit, I felt dismissed and spoken to insensitively. He has horrible bed side manners and I was told there was “nothing” he could do for me despite ongoing symptoms. Additionally, he made a belittling comment minimizing horseback riding as not a sport or any level of physical activity. At a competitive level, horseback riding is physically demanding and absolutely qualifies as high-intensity exercise, my heart rate reaches the 200s during training for hours, and it requires significant strength and endurance. The comment felt absolutely unnecessary and unprofessional. Patients with complex conditions deserve to be heard, taken seriously, and treated with respect. I left the appointment feeling so disrespected and dismissed.
