Dr. Gilda Fernandez-Nafarrete, MD

Without knowing my medical history she pressured me to have children on multiple occasions throughout my annual gynecological exam. I told her I had no children and did not want them. She said I “must have at least two children so that they can take care of you when you’re old.” She also asked the frequency at which I use protection with intimate partners to which I responded “always.” She said maybe I should use protection less so that I can get pregnant. She also said that if I were to get pregnant, that I must keep the baby because abortion is bad. When asked why abortion is bad, she said it’s because she doesn’t “like it." She told me that I will have children one day because of her and that I will thank her. She also told me that because I am an only child I need to "have at least ten kids." When I told her about my family history with cancer she told me "wow thats very bad history. That means your parent was bleeding out of their an**. Did they show you?" I was extremely… disturbed by her comments and questioning. I am in shock by the sheer lack of empathy and bias of care in which I received. As a gynecologist she should be aware of the fertility issues many women face, so her demanding I have children with no knowledge of my medical history is not only negligent but appalling. I did not feel comfortable being examined by this doctor and I am extremely concerned about the level of care myself and other patients are receiving under her guidance

this doctor lied to my mother and told her she needed a hysterectomy and did not warn her of the side effects...later on her new g.y.n. doctor looked at her records and said he would have only removed the cysts and told her in other words that she should have sued her...this doctor only cares about money!!!

She just the best , very professional, and as sweet as can be ,and not for getting her medical assistant very very sweet lady

I was blessed to have found this doctor. I've been around looking for her kind for such a long time, I have postponed my annual visits. Now I know I can have my Annual Gyn Visits with her. And her office is very clean, and very convenient, just accross the street from the Kings Plaza Mall, what a treat!
