Dr. Gillian Aylward

I’m so very excited to find her back practicing medicine again I was once her patient when she was at Duke primary care and and delighted to see her at UNC. She is a straight to the point, clear & concise, smart & wonderful physician. She has been my primary care doctor the majority of my life. I haven’t found any other doctor comparable to her.

After many years as her patient, I have always found her to be very thorough. She would always listen to me patiently, and if she wasn’t sure of something, she’d look it up. I’ve been to several family doctors around here, and she is by far the best.

I went to her because my previous doctor at this practice had left. She refused to listen to my symptoms and made her assumptions about my mental health solely based on prescriptions I had been on. I had to repeat myself several times. She refused to explain what medicine she was prescribing me. I was crying in the room and she didn't acknowledge that I was upset. I will never go back to this office ever again.

I got a cold and need to see my doctor, but my doctor was on vacation, so I visited Dr. Aylward. I got to wash my hands when I was waiting in the waiting room. But when she came in and I wanted to shake hands with her, but obviously she was hesitated. She spent less than 5 min with me and gave me the prescription (antibiotics) which turned out no obvious help after taking them for 2 days...I really doubt if she carefully listened to me and she is knowledgeable enough for these easy cases...
