Dr. Gina Christine Bamberger, DO

I had no problems with my previous Dr.'s. But my visit with Dr. Bamberger was one of those 'you-don't know what you don't know' moments. I felt that this doctor was operating at a different level (higher). Her vibrant energy, genuine interest in hearing my reasons for the visit, plus systematic approach toward collecting useful information set me back. I can tell you it was a relief! Within the first visit she established a strategy which had been hinted at before by some other doctors, but never with the conviction needed to follow through. A quick analogy: Remember the brightest, nicest, astute and curious kid in your class? Well, this one became a doctor!

When calling for an appointment or just to ask a question you do not speak with an actual person - you must leave a message on an answering machine. It took 1 1/2 weeks for a return call and then was told not to call more than once to leave the same message. When I do finally get an appointment Dr. B does not give me an actual thorough examination. Not very happy with non-personal care. Seek a doctor's office that answers the phone and where the staff is personable and caring, not RUDE!

Simply "The BEST"!

I really like Dr. Bamberger. She seems to genuinally care about her patients. However, her office staff does not return telephone calls.

Wow. . . this place is just awful. Time was, you knew if you went to Sunflower and could count on getting quality care. Not so much anymore. Not only have the good doctors left, the people they have left are either incompetent or just lethargic, it is really hard to tell. When a "doctor" has to look up treatment options on her smart-phone, or when the receptionist is stopping patients as they head out the door to check the "doctor's" work, you're better off seeking care elsewhere. Also, I wouldn't describe what you get at Sunflower as "Urgent Care," it more closely resembles, "care when we decide to get to you, and when we do, we'll just give you a cursory exam and then maybe prescribe something, without doing any kind of real 'doctorly' work." Go somewhere else, your body will thank you!

I've seen Dr. B for over 2 years now for "maintenance" and minor stuff: annual PAP smear, prescription refills, lab work and a few minor stuff (ankle, skin inflammation).Gina is great - very energetic, helpful, warm and caring. I HATE getting my annual PAP but she makes it bearable!Yes, I agree with the comments on the staff. There was a woman who used to work there who was a pain but I haven't seen her. Also, Gina switched offices and there has been some admin confusion. I think its a growing practice and they were a little unprepared for it.All in all, I love Gina. She lives in the neighborhood where she practices, which is a huge plus for me.

Dr. Bamberger is very pleasant, basically competent and spends enough time with each patient. She is very caring but does not always follow through or look at care comprehensively. I did not find Dr. Roberts competent--she messed up my treatment and tests in one instance. The office staff gives you a hard time if you call to follow up on your test results or seek to talk to the doctor. They make it difficult to get an appointment. The receptionist is moody, but even the other staff can be rude and unhelpful. I left this practice because of that. I did not feel that there was any follow up, any concern, or any sensitivity to my concerns and anxieties.
