My patient and nephew was brutally attacked by a pit Bull resulting in lacerations to his face. I called with full HIPPA permission from mom and dad to discuss with Dr Rossi. She was recommending ‘loose stitches’ and a delayed repair with a plastic surgeon. As a medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatologist, I have never heard of such an approach. When I politely questioned it, she became belligerent and placed me on hold. Then I was disconnected from the ER. Any doctor that becomes defensive and either passive aggressive or down-right rude when questioned is in my opinion incompetent. This was a simple professional courtesy call from a concerned doctor/family member with HIPPA PERMISSION. A doctor to avoid!
