Dr. Richard Keith Cavender, MD

Dr. Cavender is very knowledgeable...the problem is you will never see him. His staff and physician assistants do everything. Luke, his exercise physiologist, is worthless. You can't get his staff to return phone calls, call in prescriptions, complete worker's compensation paperwork, etc. It is extremely frustrating. I will be switching doctors.

Very in depth wellness program that used to have the doctors complete involvement in process with personal follow up and over last couple years or so I haven't even seen him at all. We are left to deal with his PA who is knowledgeable and likable but not the doctor I signed up for to see during my appointments. Giving it chance in that may be in transition with new location but keeping my eyes and ears open for new option.

was told Dr. Cavender charged $200.00 consultation fee. I assumed that meant I would see him. Had to pay up front. 45 mins past my appt. I was seen by the PA. 3 times the PA left room to ask Dr. questions that I had. Buffy was to call me next day about ins question. Never called then three weeks later office called trying to schedule me for next couple appts. Felt ripped off of $200.00 by not being seen by Dr. Felt like I got the bums rush

Dr. Cavender is extremely competent but his nurse is always dropping the ball. Fails to call in prescriptions or print all prescriptions, forgets to forward orders for blood draws to labs, etc... This was a recurring problem over the two years I utilized this office for medical care.

Dr. Cavender has a unique approach to medicine which encourages patients to be active participants in their own health. Dr. Cavender spends a great deal of time with me every time that I'm in the office. He evaluates my concerns thoroughly and considers the interaction between various medical conditions and treatment options. Dr. Cavender allows me to ask all of my questions and answers each of them without making me feel rushed. He seems to truly care about his patients. This approach does sometimes mean a longer wait since he refuses to rush people in and out of his office. For me, the trade-off is worth it!
