I sought care from this psychiatrist at the recommendation of my sleep doctor to taper off a medication. Though I was responsibly seeking medical guidance, she declined to help at all, despite acknowledging that abrupt discontinuation of the medication could be dangerous. I left the appointment feeling unsupported and unsafe. There was little empathy and no referral or backup plan offered. Mental health care should prioritize patient safety, especially with medications that carry known withdrawal risks. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here. I would urge other patients in similar situations to proceed with caution or seek a provider willing to offer comprehensive, compassionate care. Dr. Kigigha left me feeling very alone. While I have successfully been tapering off the medication on my own, I am still dismayed and disheartened by the attitude of this "doctor." Please find someone else and don't waste your time.
