I have had Dr. CHRISTEN as my OB/GYN with my two children. After giving birth to my last child, I went in for my 6 week check up and we started talking about birth control options. I wanted birth control with no hormones because of the up and down side effects they have. As a woman that has taken every form of birth control pills and knowing how I feel while being on them. He told me the hormones in birth control do not give you emotional side effects. I don't know about other women but I sure get a little moody when on the pill. He said the only side effects are headache and dizziness. He made it so awkward that I did not want to debate any further on the conversation and decided not go back to him. That why they have a saying, "you don't talk about women problems with men". A man doesn't know how a women feels and no matter how long you been doing it that won't change. It's to bad that we had a conflict of interest.

After telling me that he had 'no rules' about birthing I got told I had to have a standing IV and would be given pitocin after the babies delivery 'unless you look me in the eye and tell me you are okay hemorrhaging to death' were his words. I was afraid to even mention my desire for a water birth. When I mentioned my concern about the drugs getting in my breast milk he suggested formula. He was touted as the 'most earthy' of all the OB's at Harrison, so I opted for a home birth instead.

Female issues are always sensitive. He was great, worth the wait. I would refer any of my family and friends to him without reservation. Great bedside (chair-side) manner and professional. Hope my issues are permanently solved, but if not, I would not hesistate to return.

I've seen plenty of OB's in my life and he is the best by far! He takes the time to listen and to answer questions and to feel his personality to see if he'd be the best for you. He made going through a miscarriage easier by knowing what to expect and being there for me and my husband. And now being pregnant with our first child we have so much confidence in him! He is also very much into natural births and believes it's all about the mother giving birth and not what everyone else thinks. I've recommended him to tons of my clients and will continue to recommend him to people!
