Dr Atlas is the best. Patient, kind and informative

Our three-year-old needed to have major dental work that required sedation. As a mom, I was terrified because of everything I had researched about the dangers of sedating children. Dr. Atlas had answers for every one of my questions and immediately returned calls when I emailed with follow-up questions. It was clear from our first conversation that he is a leader in his field (he is on staff at a major hospital and also a professor at Rutgers). He made my son comfortable as soon as he met him and there weren’t even any tears when he had to give him his first injection. When he woke up from his sedation he had absolutely no pain or memory of the procedure. Dr. Atlas stayed with him for an additional hour to make sure he was okay to go home. The procedure was this morning and he has already called twice to check in on him. I read the previous review discussing to reviewer’s dissatisfaction with his bedside manner, and I have no idea why they would have written that. He was… patient, kind, and immediately made me feel at ease, which is no easy task when you are dealing with a mommy whose baby is about to go under sedation for the first time. And as far as my son, I asked him if he had fun at the dentist today and he gave me an enthusiastic “yes!” which in and of itself warrants the 5 star rating I am giving. Thank you, Dr. Atlas, for taking such good care of my little boy.

I had a bad experience with a new dentist and needed a root canal. I was extremely anxious because of this and chose to be sedated. Dr. Atlas was extremely reassuring about making me pain free and the entire root canal experience. He was very caring both during the procedure and his follow up after the root canal was BEYOND OUTSTANDING. He checked in with me two times after I got home and stayed in touch throughout the entire weekend until I told him that I was feeling much better, Dr. Atlas was the most compassionate health care provider that I have ever dealt with. He help get through this entire experience.

He came to my dentists office and turned 45 minutes of screaming agony into 20 minutes of NO PAIN!

This anesthesiologist is God awful. He may be knowledgeable in his field, but his bedside manner is lacking, & he finds himself humorous, which I did not. He is more concerned about money, than the patient, which should be the priority. I would not recommend him to anyone, as he traumatized my child so much, that I have had great difficulty just getting him to a dentist for his regular check ups. Definitely a "NO"
