Dr. Glenn Jeffrey Belkin, DO

Many years ago, Dr. Belkin told my parents that my 7 year old sister just had a bad cold and she died from a brain tumor a little over two weeks later. Find another pediatrician.

agreeing with the comments here - right off the bat - told my boy who is on the spectrum that he was not here to be his friend.. so an autistic teen is going to pour his heart and soul to you? I believe the eval he wrote was just a summarized version of the school evals that I handed over. Same curt behavior that others complained about. My husband and I thought that is the way psych evals were supposed to go..very impersonal and one-sided - but then we met other ped dev docs ...

Dr. Belkin is a pediatric Developmental Ped who unfortunately has a privilege of power he does not desire. It is almost impossible to see a dev ped and so many parents are at the mercy of his appointments for medication, reports, evals and he does not care at all about his patients. We had 3 appointments and all he did was tell us to stop talking because he has other patients and we have a limited time, write incorrect and reports filled with errors, and the last apt he told me to look at the report as it was his best, but then said to me that "oh no not now i have other patients" so when I got to the car I saw that he just cut and pasted from previous reports and wrote 3 sentences. PLEASE PLEASE do not go to him. Its a horrible feeling when you need to have your child see a dev ped and he is the only one you can get in to see. But it makes me sick thinking about how he is only there collecting a pay check and does not care or even try to care for his patients.

Dr. Belkin does not actually care about your health, but may give you a prescription if you ask for it.

I have read some of these reviews and I agree with many of the comments made. I also have taken my son to Dr. Belkin. He has visited him three times and all he has done was to tell us to get all kinds of evaluation from his teacher, doctors, and us. He enters this info it in his computer and he dose not have much to say. I had traveled far, taken a day off of work and pulled my son out of school for this. My husband had gone twice with my son and he had the same experience. My husband questioned his reason for wanting to give my son some other drug and was not given a reasonable cause. Dr. Belkin appears not to have a clear medical plan which causes me to doubt his intentions. His patient bedside manners are very questionable. I do not recommend this DR. to any children.

My son has actually never seen Dr. Belkin because the receptionist made a mistake while scheduling the appointment. My husband had to take a day off of work and my son had to miss school. When they got to the doctors office the receptionist said that there was no appointment on record although i spoke to her a couple of times and made sure that i had the correct time and date. I asked her to please have him be seen and although this was their fault she said no. Her exact words to me were, "Dr. Belkin does not like being overbooked." I would never recommend this office.

The staff and wait time were fine. Dr. Belkin was extremely rude, sarcastic and inappropriate. He spent most of the time typing on the computer. He asked us a series of questions and told us that he expected yes or no answers because we had a limited amount of time to be there. We brought our son's report cards, evaluations, NYS test scores and medical records. We expected him to review this information thoroughly and instead he took less than a minute looking at the information. He then gave us what he considered an evaluation. The evaluation had numerous grammatical errors and inaccuracies. I would not recommend.

We tried for a while and stopped. He never seemed to listen to our real needs and instead made some poor, inapropriate remarks. He also never remembered anything and we had to repeat so that he could spend the whole time writing on the computer and then read it again the next time. Spent lots of time on the computer typing. He was very often interrupted by the nurse coming in without knocking. He could never remember my son' s name and kept calling him by his last name. I would not recomend him.

My so has been seen by the Dr for awhile now and all he seems to do is take notes on the adult not speak to our son. He then issues drugs based on the parents interview. I find this not safe as drugs are not always the answer. I suggest seeing 3 Drs and get answers before filling a child with MIND ALTERING DRUGS.

I found the staff to be very nice and helpful, and while Dr. Belkin was very nice, I found this tactics to be strange. He barely spoke to my son, and the appointments consisted of the doctor at his computer asking me or my husband questions about our son and him typing them in. He had to reschedule two more times because he had so many questions and my son was getting ancy or he had more patients to see. Never interacted with my son, which I guess he doesn't need to in order to observe him but I thought it was odd. He was not unfriendly but I also felt like I could have answered the questionnaire on paper and submitted it to him and then he could have read it, interacted with my son and then given me his observation instead of us going back 2 more times. I don't think I would go back to him for this reason. I would not say he is a bad doctor but I wasn't thrilled either.
